I reckon that the car on the extreme right could be a Jensen.
The left hand one a Bentley VI but not too sure.

I believe you are right on both counts, well done!I reckon that the car on the extreme right could be a Jensen.

Cheers, that’s showing my age in recognising them ( with a little bit of research) !I believe you are right on both counts, well done!
My latest acquisition is a SwooshStar...
I'm glad I wasn't the only oneI don’t know what that is?
GWR Star Class or FNW Star livery are my only thoughts...Intriguing…
I did some looking into it and figured "SwooshStar" had something to do with a Class 170 "Turbostar" - Wikipedia makes mention of a "swoosh" livery they once carried, I believe perhaps in Scotland?

Ignore, hit reply too soon!
Let me try again and see if the photos I took will upload this time.

Apologies for the confusion, my Internet keeps dropping out and I cannot get the photos to upload.I did some looking into it and figured "SwooshStar" had something to do with a Class 170 "Turbostar" - Wikipedia makes mention of a "swoosh" livery they once carried, I believe perhaps in Scotland?

Not quite.Ah. Now that makes more sense than me thinking it was North Star…
Apologies for the confusion, my Internet keeps dropping out and I cannot get the photos to upload.
To resolve the confusion and intrigue at least.
You have the Class 170, the TurboStar.
In Transport Scotland 'Saltire' livery - it becomes a SaltireStar.
In First ScotRail 'Barbie' livery - it becomes a BarbieStar.
In National Express ScotRail 'Swoosh' livery - it becomes a SwooshStar.
Maybe it's a Scottish enthusiast thing but I assure you I did not make up those nicknames myself!
@Peter C touched on the right lines.
Not quite.
Hopefully this Flickr photo will suffice in the absence of my own photos temporarily:

I wish I could get the photos to upload, it's a really smart little model. Although the tooling is about 20 years old, I still think it looks the part.Well that’s pretty smart and very apt for your area.

I'll have another bash tomorrow.
Working directional head/marker and tail lights, close coupling, the printing is crisp and legibile (I can read the seat numbers and Business Class markings on the doors), the livery seems accurate to prototype. What’s the detail like on it? Does it have working lights etc?
I saw reference to the new tooling Bachmann 170 sometime ago, thankfully NatEx does me fine.Thank you for the MacTurbostar explanation!
Yes I do like the look of the Bachmann 170. There was a new tooling 3-car Saltire example promised that I had my eye-on, but it seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth sadly.
So what would you call an XC 170?Apologies for the confusion, my Internet keeps dropping out and I cannot get the photos to upload.

Is there is a nickname for those? So what would you call an XC 170?
Some people just call all 170’s lawnmowers don’t they?Is there is a nickname for those?
I'm only aware of the 3 Scottish-based ones.
Class-wise, I think I have read that nickname. Some people just call all 170’s lawnmowers don’t they?
Well I guess BurgundyStar would make sense, but it certainly isn't as catchy as SwooshStar or BarbieStarClass-wise, I think I have read that nickname.
I was more thinking of ones specific to a livery.
It looks like a lovely model, but ooft I hate that liveryFinally got the photos to upload - (I hope).
Each to their own - it's my favourite! It looks like a lovely model, but ooft I hate that livery
Lawnmower? That's a Class 27!Some people just call all 170’s lawnmowers don’t they?
Nope, but I'm off to Warley today so there may be some purchases later...Anyone picked anything up on Black Friday?
That’s a good haul, and a classic DMU livery. How was the exhibition?Nope, but I'm off to Warley today so there may be some purchases later...
Just got back from the NEC with my bank account somewhat lighter...

It was busy, but not as much as the last one in 2019. A few interesting layouts but again not as many as 2019- presumably the relatively late confirmation of the event going ahead played a part in that. I was paying rather more attention to the stalls than I was to the exhibits, and we (myself and my brother) were back in the car by 14:30.That’s a good haul, and a classic DMU livery. How was the exhibition?
