Hi all, just a quick question, i applied for the Worcester trainee train driver apprenticeship- Talent pool, Ive done my online assessment 3 weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything back from GWR as of yet? I was wondering if anyone has applied for the same role and heard back from them? And how long roughly do people get the results back from them. Seems like they have forgotten about me haha. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is probably better placed in the careers subforum so I've reported your post with a suggestion to the mods to move it.

GWR and railway recruitment are slow at the best of times, let alone now. Three weeks is nothing. You're going to have to be patient

By the look of things it’s a very long process and loads of applications went through, over 6000 I’ve read. So I can understand why it’s taking a while. Yes be patient, No news is good news.

People are starting to receive emails today to say they are still going through process.

This thread is very confusing, everyone seems to be referring to the WMT recruitment drive but the OP said GWR and they also have depot at Worcester.

thanks, yes I’ve received the email. Hope it’s good news at the end. Best of luck mate.
If its any help, my application with GWR took about 12 months from start to finish. They do always get back to you eventually so I'd just sit tight and start practicing for those assesments!
I applied on the end of December 2018, had 2nd stage asessments 6 months later and DMI was 3 months later. Im sat in the pool now, my advice is be patient as it is going to be a while to get past interview stages
let alone potential time to get on a course, even more delayed due to the current situation.

Hi, thanks for your advice, how did you find the assessments? Was it intensive? Or fairly straight forward? Would you know what assessments would come up? I’m planning on doing a health and safety course level 2 to help me get through to. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

The assessments were split into two stages, pen and paper assessments on stage 1(which I had already done with another TOC) and stage 2 were computer tests + MMI.
There is a wealth of information in these forums that will help you prepare, although the computer tests will not really be something I think you could practice for, more just a case of being well rested the night before to keep your senses sharp for them.
The pen and paper tests are the group bourdon, tea-occ, TRP 1+2 and DFFT.
