It looks like I will need to make a very short notice trip to Newquay from York.
Not fussed about route or timings but what is the earliest I can get to Newquay from York?
Also the latest I can leave Newquay and get back to York?

What day?
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Tomorrow:

From York

06:59 to KX
Tube to Padd
London Paddington 10:06GW to Par arriving 13:59
Then change at Par for 14:07 to Newquay arriving at 14:59

Going back

10:13 to Par
11:07 from Par to as far as Plymouth.

Then the 12:25 XC HST to York.

Hope that helps

Its the earliest arrival I can make at Newquay that is the bigger question.
Don't know what day yet as it's for a funeral, date and time not known yet.
I can juggle any route and will be on Staff Travel card.

Or you could consider the sleeper:

York 2005
Kings X 2215

Paddington 2345
Par 0636

Par 0917
Newquay 1009

Coming back (not sleeper):

Newquay 1501
Par 1547

Par 1552
Plymouth 1652

Plymouth 1725
Leeds 2315

Leeds 2337
York 0003

Coming back (sleeper):

Newquay 2126
Par 2216

Par 2257
London Paddington 0523

Kings X 0615
York 0831

I'm not sure that Par will be an interesting place to wait for 2.5 hours at that time in the morning, but if that is the only way tog et to the funeral, needs must and all that!

Actually, I've had a look for tomorrow and alighting the sleeper at 0607 in Liskeard allows the OP to catch the XC 0659 service to Newquay from there, meaning an 0818 arrival, so not so bad after all.

The Par-Newquay trains won't wait if the connecting train into Par is running late, so go with the sleeper.
