I applied on August 31st, the day before the closing date.

Found out i'd passed the first sift when the practice material for the first part of the assessment arrived in the post 3 or 4 days later.

Had a phone call the day after the first part of the assessment to say i'd passed and inviting me to Doncaster for the second part.

Was told on the day that i'd passed part 2 at Doncaster.

Then had to wait a couple of weeks for a date for the manager's interview, and then another couple of weeks for a phone call to say that i'd passed and verbally offered a position.

Had my medical today and passed.

I applied (19th August), heard nothing for ages to then get an email (31st October) stating my application was on hold and they would be back in contact towards the end of December :)

Congratulations mate :D . I was offered Warrington , but when I asked about the training in my interview all he said was that they were unsure where it would be. Another DB Trainee from their last intake sent me a message on here and said they were at Toton , but no word or paperwork through from HR yet so I guess it's wait and see !

The medical had a questionnaire at the beginning, about 4 pages. All stuff about you, NI number, GP details. Previous ailments, have you ever worked with various stuff (I had to tick about 80% of them).

Just be honest, I've had two ankle operations and still receiving treatment for it, they were fine with that. Passed the medical with no restrictions.

Apart from that, just the usual. Drug test, breathalyser, lung capacity test, ECG hearing test, sight and colour blindness. Height, weight and blood pressure. Few questions about various stuff, aches, pains, white finger etc.

Thanks mate, really appreciate the reply, the waiting process is a real hard slog. I applied in the last advert in November and am waiting to hear.

Good luck

Has anyone who applied heard anything from DBS from the recent recruitment drive, cut off date 23 Nov 13?

Hi Mate

Not heard anything yet, there is a class starting on the 6th Jan, maybe we will hear shortly after that. It would be good to hear before the xmas break though:D

Good luck with it all

Hi,

New on this forum but I also applied and have been offered Warrington. No paperwork as yet, but spoke to HR by phone to confirm that my urine test results were fine. Start date is 6th Jan but I was told it was up in the air as to where the training will take place. Initially Nottingham (Toton?) was mentioned, but now there is a possibility of somewhere down south?!? Does anyone know anymore?

Jim.

Hi Jim , and congrats ! I'm also going to be at Warrington , but as for more info I'm afraid you already know more than me....... The 6th Jan start date seems standard for all of us but location still a bit of an enigma !

Hi Paul,

Congratulations to yourself to. I spoke to HR yesterday and they told me they hadn't had chance to get the offers out to the successful candidates yet, but it was still the 6th of Jan. My notice will be going in tomorrow and, hopefully the paper work will arrive this week. Don't know about you, but I want to get it confirmed and out of the way!

I was wondering when you'd pop in Jim. :D

Good luck with the resignation. ;)

It'll feel very surreal when you've done it.

I've got an interview coming up for DBS Driver at Crewe and wondered if anyone could tell me what routes and tractions are worked from the depot?

I'm dying to had my notice in! I'm hoping I hear by the end of the week, then I can tell them I won't be in most of next week. Can't wait. (unless they say it is the May course, then I'll be stuck here for a bit longer)

I had a phone call from HR today. They said Medical my results had come back in and were fine , and she confirmed the start date of 6th Jan. The offer letter with contract and other paperwork has been sent out. She also said that in amongst the paperwork there is the uniform and PPE forms which she stressed needed to sent back URGENTLY WITH A RUSH ON to allow them time to get the uniform ready for January.

Fair to say i'm Very excited now !!!!!!! (and notice has gone in also and I'll end up with Xmas off work into the bargain.....which is nice) !

What is this magical contract you talk about?

Still nothing heard, will give them until tomorrow lunchtime and give them a ring, don't want to appear pushy. Just want to know.
