Where did you get that from?

Various Journalist reports in the last 24 hours, admittedly it is Journalists so they cannot always be trusted. But First South Western isnt going to happen, First do not use the corporate name on public names of its franchises. It is not company policy.

South Western Trains, South Western Railway, London & South Western Railway... But a curveball wouldnt surprise me either, West Coast was to be known as Horizon Trains.
Mind you the 10 day standstill period should be over tomorrow so no doubt the horses mouth will speak shortly.

I think that LSWR, especially in the way that it has been branded in the picture that is floating about, is too similar to GWR. It seems to me that First are trying to keep their brands fairly distinct, this looks like GWR but with a different name and colour pallette.

A small font capital 'L' larger font capital 'SW' followed by smaller font capitalised 'r' on a maroon (or close)background i believe will be the logo and above post correct that it will be called London South Western Railway which i guess goes alongside Great Western Railway as two rail companies of first group.

Also First have not been using the slogan "transforming travel" for sometime.

Just an FYI, Three x Amazon were offering 24GB valid for 24 months for £28 total recently.

I wouldn't put it on anything other than EE at the moment, the coverage is absolutely excellent (particularly from moving trains, which is the main use-case for mobile data, though that will reduce once LM get their free wifi going). But cheers though.

Sounds good to me, any ideas on colour scheme?

Horizon Trains was a weird one. I bet that was going to be the name of the company and they were going to trade as something else, though I know not what. It seems such a weird name otherwise.

It was definitely the brand, I've got a copy of a presentation from them.

I don't think a standard brand like 'West Coast' would have been a good fit for the route when it had previously just been branded Virgin Trains.

Cheers. Shame we didn't get those seats, but the rest of the brand looks really weak.

I wonder where they got the name idea from? The only connection I can think of is that MK's local radio station was for many years called FM103 Horizon, before it was Heart-ed. :)

on the livery front, for paint nerds it'll be interesting to see if they go for a single colour scheme or if they emulate the Stagecoach approach of having a Metro, Suburban/Local and Mainline/Express liveries

First don't on GWR, which has a comparable variety of services, and to be fair their livery looks great on everything from HSTs to Sprinters to Electrostars. Still, doesn't mean they won't on SW.

Highly unlikely unfortunately, part of the area where the old platforms used to be is now a car park and the other part is a Matalan. Even getting one additional bay platform will require at least a partial demolition of that store.

Getting rid of a car park wouldn't be to much of a problem I'd have thought. However I'll agree getting rid of the store very unlikely. Probably only likely if they were building something like HS2 through Portsmouth.

Far too easy to abuse, like when Three had the 'make it right' campaign and found it was repeatedly twisted and thrown back at its face!

I remember Sainsbury's with the 'try something new today' line that had people say 'Yeah, I went to <rival name>'.

Social media has made it far too easy to do these days, with a p***-take meme taking seconds!

What about the Townsend Thoresen (P&O European Ferries) slogan at the time of the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster - "We're with you all the way"?

There's a new station announcement, at least at Liverpool Lime St, which is something to do with security and ends with "See it, Say it, Sorted".
Presumably it is a Network Rail/TOC/RDG thing.
I wonder how long that will last?

Then there's the new TV advert "Britain Runs on Rail", which is so feeble it hasn't yet registered on this forum.
It must be an RDG advert, but it doesn't say that anywhere.
Some bright spark thought a lot of (almost extinct) clickety-clack and a train horn would be enough to tell you it was about rail travel.

No, i only just managed to get a glimpse of the logo last night that has now been posted by banana republic at 10:42. Also, i see the r is capitalised and not really sure if that is maroon.....

BTP - See it. Say it. Sorted.

Posters started to be displayed at major railway stations across England, Scotland and Wales from 1 November 2016. Updated security announcements will also be made at stations.

The campaign, which is designed by government, police and the rail industry, will be rolled out across the rest of the rail network in 2016/17.

Just as it is with the GWR logo.

LSWR

Similar corporate style, different colour scheme.

Also, notice the two tone colours.
I'm wondering if the matt greyish green slash on the GWR green trains will be replicated with the lower colour on that LSWR image?

That looks fake to me I'm afraid, 'returning' in August 2017? For 99% of people that wouldn't make any sense.
