It has yellow lines from memory so if the traffic warden came by it would be a ticket.

sounds like you caught the student only version. The student only version runs 5 mins ahead of the public version of the 12. The student only version isn’t advertised in public timetables.
but sounds like the driver had the kind set wrong as the student only version the desti shows as “12 students only“
The public version doesn’t go to the school,
I do not think so, as there were other passengers on the bus when it arrived from Bude. We stopped at any stop as reqd all the way to Plymouth and there were a number of other passengers on the bus at all times

100% from what you’ve described the driver has the school student only running board timetable

Re Union Street in Camborne, outside the Bus Station used to be two bus stops for the old Truronian routes T7 & T19. They then used the station as a turning point not using the stands.

There is a couple of the 70 plate E200 MMCs on the Plymouth Citybus group without vinyls, think the E400 MMC is still in the workshop

E200 MMC 2418 had the honours of operating the final TfC T1 service tonight

No comment...!!
Having been hors de combat for a while, I come back to find something that once might have been described as unbelievably crass having taken place. Instead, I'll be satirical and wonder whether it's an acknowledgement of the great strides that have been made in ticketing interavailability and huge reduction in bus fares to encourage more people onto buses in Cornwall.

Talking of which, has the low fares scheme finally been killed off?

In that case, that's another four month wait since the 'mid September' date quoted me by my local councilor in the summer

Does the 89 still run full route as per the TfC timetable online as Google thinks it only runs Truro-Fraddon all day.

According to the TFC website the 89 runs between Bodmin - Truro on Mon-Fri.
Agreed, but despite it appearing correct , TfC do have a habit of changing times on twitter and not updating their website so I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a random tweet from them.

Which used to be run by the Volvo B7RLE Eclipse Urban 2s. How come they got sent to Manchester?
They moved to upgrade the GNW fleet. GoAhead obviously decided that rattly old ex London E200s were more appropriate for the PCB fleet.

I don't think it was.

The Eclipses were on the 11 Plymouth to Padstow. I think they'd been in Manchester some time when TfC (and the 89) started.

Such as the machinations of a large group though.

To be fair, full size single decks have never been that populous in Cornwall. I think in ye olden leaf green days, Western National confined them to stuff like Padstow to Bodmin (55?), Bodmin to St Austell (27/29) or St Ives to St Just (17)

A move I have to admit I was surprised by, as I thought such a quality vehicle would have been kept in either the PCB or TFC Fleets - they were of rather high quality being for the various FLASH routes around Plymouth. Then again, I can only presume the FLASH branding has now been dispensed with given the number of Green and Yellow Flash vehicles currently in all states working for TFC in Cornwall. They also seem to be a bit of a headache for GNW refurb program judging by the comments on their Facebook, being mostly Red / Cream inside (vs the ex First colour scheme from the inherited fleets).

They are quality vehicles but these moves are commonplace where the need is greatest. The irony being that First Greater Manchester sent 13 18 month old Eclipses to Cornwall for the 14/18 (and even more ironically, some ended up back there).

I definitely remember seeing them in Truro on the 89 on the odd occasion but as aforementioned, it was also run by a Dart and Enviro.

Speaking of darts, WA54 JVZ was on the 88 today.

Having trouble editing my reply but was meant to say in addition to my last reply, this was long before TfC started. Probably talking early 2019

I thought the Eclipses that headed to Manchester went north in late 2019/Jan 2020, before the 89 started.

The 89 service was the only PCB service that ran from Bodmin to Truro long before TfC started and, I can assure you, the Wright Eclipse Urban 2s were on that service from time to time as well as the odd Dart. I should know, I’m in Truro a lot and seen them with my own eyes normally around 1:15pm during 2019.

Think he's talking about the occasional b7rle that has been going around which is on loan from go south coast.
Like this as an example https://bustimes.org/vehicles/200053
Nope, the WA12 AC- buses. Didn’t have the loaned vehicles in 2019.

Sorry - are you talking about the Callywith College route from Truro to Bodmin or was it Bodmin to Truro College?
