I realise the truth. You want to see D6332 running again, it has to be in D6332, Every metric micrometer in 1/32s the lot. After Covid24

Or search on Youtube for 'Blue Pullman' and filter it to show videos from today. There are at least a dozen now.

Have to say it looks really really good. Though seeing an HST with a cyclops light is a bit odd!

Having just watched some utubes of this train en route from Eastleigh Works to Crewe today, I was
very impressed by the very high quality finish and smart external appearance ....a great credit to
the staff at Eastleigh who clearly have taken great pride in their special work.
If the inside of this recreated Blue Pullman' is to the same standard then a treat awaits its passengers.

That shade of blue should look great in daylight photos. Big contrast to the dull and muted colours of many contemporary liveries.

Very clever how they’ve changed the line of the white band above the cab window to emulate the look of the original. Little things that make a big difference

A pretty accurate rendering of the livery, particularly the micro sized numbers with M prefix which reminded me of train spotting days at Radlett. There was quite an art to getting the numbers which involved rapid swivelling of the head and a memory capable of remembering six numbers at once!

I absolutely love this! One thing I've noticed, however, is that the headlights have been changed. Does anyone know why?

It'll be because in order not to have the yellow front they need to meet the latest standards - which includes the top light which has been added, but the main lights also need to comply and the existing ones didn't.

no "hi viz" yellow nose so needs new high power headlights to compensate

I see, thanks. Bit of a shame - I like the East Midlands-style triple headlights better!

Are the carriages all FOs?

It has an all first class interior, yes, with I think 2 catering vehicles, and one TGS fitted with first class seating.

Edit: only one catering vehicle in the video there. Weren't two originally planned?

Looking at a few websites, there seems to be daily test trains running every weekday next week

Crewe - Carnforth - Crewe - Stafford - Nuneaton - Rugby - Nuneaton -= Stafford - Crewe

Checked RTT - but to my untrained eye nothing jumps out, but lots of possible paths for LS operated trains - Possibly this might be one?

Pathed as HST so this or the other power cars have to see on day.

Not a bad effort - going to give it 8/10 though, because that huge expanse of the same blue at the bottom of the nose is a bit much; the originals stopped at the buffer beam & had the buffers themselves & a red flash over the shanks to break it up. Maybe a dash of red somewhere around the lights would do it.

Does work remarkably well overall, good job.

For those interested, these have Paxman VP185 engines. Definitely means continued use of Paxman power :)! Naturally, favourite part of the train will be the TGS coach.

I'm guessing literally the entire train will be table seated?

If only this was post covid and I was rich, I'd want this as an early 28th Birthday (or Christmas) present this year!

There are no FOs in the set... ;)

It has 6 TFs, a TGF (ex-TGS) and a converted TRFB which has been heavily modified and is effectively now a Trailer Kitchen.

Amazing result and well worth the effort put in by LSL and the teams at Eastleigh.
Went to see it pass Mortimer last night and although did not get a decent photo was duly impressed in what I saw pass through. Well done to those who got some great images and videos last night in what was not the best of weathers.
This has got to be tried for what it is - a luxury touring train, and I for one look forward to seeing it out on the main (and some not so main) lines when launched. The spirit of two of the greatest trains lives on in one and that has to be a good thing- good luck to them!
