I got told earlier the new evoras aren’t for longstone or service 30 earlier. I heard that 20 are due and they will be going to marine for 42,45,48. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this? I live on the 30 route so bit disappointing if it is.
If this was true I'd agree that it is disappointing, but we don't really have proper evidence that this is true. The source could be untrusted, etc

Told by who? Why would they be route trialed at night on the 2/30/36/38 if they were for Marine?

True but their both still not confirmed as withdrawn
whenever someone asks on the LC facebook site about the EX2 or X38 they reply that they are not being operated at the moment but to keep watching for further information. They have not yet said they are cancelled.

i believe half of the Leopard interurbans are being repainted for use elsewhere, the other would be able to resume EX2 operations. Out of the two services, that is the one most likely to return. Mainly due to fleet allocations.

Although, Linlithgow is well served by trains and First's offering is also good, so why need another service?

First's offering is terrible! I want Lothian's X38 back because the ticketing allows for onward bus and tram travel in Edinburgh, which to me is very useful.

In that case should 176-180 plus 182-185 be operating on the X38.Plus any further updates on 181

They're not branded for the X38 anymore so why 'should' they be on it?

Also correction to my previous post, there's 27 buses tracking on the 30 not 26.

Could I just remind everyone that the forum has a search option which can be used to check if your question has already been asked.

We're receiving complaints that the same people keep asking the same questions.

As an example, to search for news on the X38:

  • Click or tap on "Search" in the top right-hand corner of the page
  • Type "X38" in the box
  • Choose "This thread"
  • Click or tap "search" again
This will bring a list of every post in the thread which contains "X38" and you'll be able to see when it was last mentioned.

I visited the Livingston garage on Friday morning. 1126/7/8 were there in all white plus 3 airlink liveried vehicles which I couldn’t get the registrations or fleet numbers of. Does anyone know which ones they were? 1126 looked as if it had just turned up at garage that morning.

Do you know if any of the XLB's will be used on commercial Lothian Country routes (e.g. X18, 275, 280 ect...)

if they did I would most likely see them on their busiest routes, the X18 or X27/X28

West Lothian is going into Level 4 as of Friday, do you reckon we might see a decrease of services from LCB?

I'm at a loss as to why the LCB fleet isn't 100% single deck if I'm honest. That said I'm not local so don't know if the loadings at peak ever justified the deckers pre-COVID.

Erm, because some services require double deckers for capacity

They don't. None of LCB services require double decks even at peak times before covid the loading were light enough that a single would suffice. Only exception is the 43.

i’ve seen plenty X18s, X27s, X28s and even a few 280s that would struggle with a single. Yes not many of them however just saying “none of them” doesn’t look at the bigger picture. Have you taken into account there was probably expected growth? Changes of routes to busier areas? etc..

I drive these routes every day and have done for 18 months. Never once have I had more than about 25 folk on at the one time. Yes, they may have taken into account expected growth, but I can only comment on my own experience of the past 18 months.

Opened a can of worms there, wasn't deliberate! Leaving it there!

In completely unrelated news I saw a pair of Eclipses heading south on the A1 in convoy together today near 2pm - I assume to new owners. I was heading the other way so can only say they were Eclipses and both had the "get there greener" I've-got-an-Equinox-fitted branding above the window line so I'm guessing some of the last 04 or 55 plates?
