I was looking at the angle of the summer timetable details being published by now to aid planning rather than operating.

From the registration the new L routes are (correct me if wrong or missed any)
L1 - Lizard to Redruth (like before Tfc)
L3 - Helston to Truro
L5 - Helston to St ives
So is there a L2 and L4 still waiting for registration?

Also interestingly the L1 is supported by subsidies? Does that mean the L1 will replace the Tfc 34 as they both do the same route.
No you’re not there on a number of counts.

If published too early you find passengers turn up for the timetables that haven’t started yet as they don’t look at the date and just see a timetable.
Sure there is many other reasons too.

I can assume with all the Lizard services being introduced next month, the Lolyne Tridents with Lizard branding will be back on them again mostly.

There are two open top Trident Plaxton Presidents (I think that’s what they are) on their way from Ensign bus to be used on the Lizard network.

And also one Lizard Solo SR will be used as seen in On the Buses post #14343. It’s not been said I don’t think whether the Tridents will be used as well.

Yes I am aware of the two open top Presidents and the one Solo SR. As far as I know any Tridents which are leaving Cornwall will be the closed top Presidents, I haven’t seen anything that suggests the East Lancs Lolyne ones will be leaving too.

I don't think any suggestion that the East Lancs Tridents would be leaving the fleet was made. If I read it correctly it was talking about the two Lizard liveried Tridents being used on the new Lizard network.

There are currently 4 East Lancs Tridents in Lizard livery. Those are 32756, 758, 760 & 762. 32757 is branded for the U lines & 32761 is in normal Kernow livery.

Although given that it's been previously reported that when the E400MMCs return from SPS they will cover all normal scheduled double deck services it would appear that their use will only be short term.

They’ll cover most of the core network. The Lolynes are all staying and will be joined by more double deck Lizards in due course.

So will there be a L2 or L4 and can you say which one the new open toppers will go on?
The open tops will operate Helston to The Lizard.
There is no L4 - think more laterally!

So I assume the branded Lolynes will still run the Lizards and will have some more deckers running alongside them? I guess the extra Lizards will be Geminis?

Think some of us are better at lateral thinking than others!

Looking forward to seeing both this and the DayTripper network when they can be shared
Just the logistics of new website which has pre purchased tickets on it and details of third part attractions etc too. We don’t want to pre sell now in case dates change for restrictions being lifted from 17 May.

The U4 is going reptilian.
I'm guessing the U4 will be the L4. This meaning all first buses in helston will be Lizard branded which will look great.

The current U4 is usually run by two blue 18 plate enviro 400 so will these go onto other U routes and maybe a few green 18 plate enviros will get lizard vinalys?

Is there still going to be a L2? St Keverne and Coverack was the old L2 will it resume the same.

Surely the MMCs will stay on the U routes and the Tridents will be repainted?

Was worth a guess, can you tell us what is really happening on the U4?

If the U4 does get a new livery then the blue E400 can go on the other U routes, but the current Kernow green on the 18 plate Enviro are slightly similar (different shades of green) and you might get away with taking the Kernow vinyls off and add Lizard ones.

Or you could actually repaint them.

Clearly, the U4 will become the L4. It will receive some appropriately liveried vehicles. That's all we're getting at the mo.

Does anyone know how the new Lizard routes will affect the Transport for Cornwall ones, in particular the 34 and its funding?

The U4 could stay as the U4 but will fit into the L1, L2, L3, U4, L5 network. 1, 3 and 5 have been registered and the L2 was mentioned by On the Buses in #14359.

Surely they can not fund citybus 34 if First commercial routes cover same route?
They can't assuming it's basically the same route at the same frequencies.

In this case the L1 is financially supported by the council so not commercial, not that that makes any difference.

The U4 and 91 are also partly financially supported by the council, so GCB haven't got a complete monopoly on supported services.
