Is their evidence that TfC tickets are cheaper? TfC is a council brand, the services are contracted and the council set the fares. The council is supposed to be running a cheaper fares experiment sometime however it keeps on being delayed. Everybody always wants cheaper things, the issue then is finding the money to pay for it; cheaper fares don't generate extra passengers as fast as they lose income and eventually increase costs.
The contracts are net cost and the fares are set by the operator.

You're making a very sweeping statement about fares! It all depends on the elasticity of demand - basic transport economics.

Regarding the cheap fares scheme, this has been confirmed by "Bus Back Better" and is planned to be introduced in the autumn.

So. I want to see what other people in the area think? Poking a hornet's nest with this I think, but does anyone feel the FSW namely kernow, should have a look at the fare charts and make the fares cheaper? I mean for a single from mullion to cury is £4! Same price as a ticket from Helston to Mullion! And the the price of the U4 in places is just madness! Heard that TfC have cheaper tickets. Considerably cheaper in some areas. I know it's a council subsidiary, but surely FSW could capitalise and be more competitive on this? Look at Plymouth! They did get pushed out in the end by them.

I just want other people's thoughts on it?
Marazion to Rosudgeon single is £4.40!

33036 is still currently in Bristol. It went unserviceable when it was being collected last week.
Maybe Bristol are fixing it so then it can carry on its trip down to Cornwall in due course.

The one currently in Cornwall has returned to the Helston depot, to return to the L1 soon.
You’d think it’ll be on the L1 tomorrow if it’s now in Helston…

Marc Morgan Huws has tweeted that there's a big announcement this week regarding Buses of Somerset.
He's a tease.... We could run a sweepstake on the nature of any announcement!

FWIW, the fleet is looking a lot smarter of the last year. It was a bugbear of mine and it does look better. Some newer fleet would be welcome (aside from the intimated replacements for the aged Tridents) but appreciate the financial realities of day.

Indeed, the Yeovil fleet looks the smartest it's been since...possibly even the NBC days? The Darts have scrubbed up well in BoS green, compared to about 5 or 6 different variations of Olympia they were in!

Agreed. There's been a significant repaint programme and the revised livery is a big improvement. I was never keen on the original BoS livery.

Ok you’ve got it. Hinckley Tour with a world first. First nuclear powered bus. Does 5 years between fuel rods.
Technically the electric buses in Newport could claim to be nuclear powered (Oddly it's always more likely that they'll claim solar or wind, however it's the same electricity!)

I can exclusively reveal that the big announcement is an upgrade of services through Wiveliscombe and towards Glastonbury and Street using a range of Bristol built coaches. The test event happens tomorrow about 10.40 in Wiveliscombe and 13.00 in Glastonbury (or later depending on traffic) with services running through every few minutes. (Or it could be the Royal Blue run coming past!).

I’ve already tried this today in Cornwall whilst working the D9 I managed to get myself in their convoy. I decided to pull over and let them by and managed to get the below attached photos of my Solo 53255 with various passing Royal Blue vehicles

Because the U4 is now apparently part of the Lizard network, I imagine in due course Lizard branded vehicles will start appearing on there too once a few more of them have been painted into the colours…

I was also told the other day that Falmouth still have some U4 allocations so I suspect in the near future there will be a mixture of both Lizard and standard vehicles on there…

Somerset County Council contract wins? That’s if they have any left
They do have a few but not many. Hatch Green have the 51 Taunton to Stoke St Gregory, the 23/23B Taunton to Bishops Lydeard, the 19 Bridgwater to Street and 16 Bridgwater to Langport as the main ones. South West Coaches will have a few such as the 96 Yeovil to Chard but not certain what else is tendered vs commercial.

However, what could be being teased....? Could be many things as FSW have demonstrated their entrepreneurial nature.

I expect Ray Stenning is busy with a fluorescent colour scheme for HP open toppers called Fusion

The return of some of the early 00's Sunday services like Minehead to Othery or Wellington to Castle Carey, the highlight being the 22:00 Bath - Bridgwater on a Sunday via Shepton.
