I had a look on bustimes this morning and there were several vehicles tracking as the D5 even down in the west!

Maybe First are using the D5 code when moving buses from depot to depot similiar to PCB using 999

Our pre-use checks are now on Ticketer. But to use it requires logging into a running board. The top running board on the Ticketer list is a D5 running board so it seems to be the running board of choice when there isn’t a programmed running board for vehicle transfers between depots etc.

There are no day trippers running today.

A limited version of the D5 has however been running all the way through the suspension though hasn’t it, running from St Austell to Eden Project only. It was a President that looked like it was working from Bodmin when I noted it a few weeks ago.

Do you know if there’s a date set for when the DayTrippers will start again?

Thanks for confirming what appears to be a very rare working. Whilst isolated on the car park contract obviously didn't have a machine and definitely the first revenue earning working it's done this year!
It had worked on the 226A prior to May on a couple of occasions, I believe.

33072 possibly; that was the one I saw on it a few weeks ago as well.

Does anyone know when the 4 (or rather 3, with the unfortunate demise of 32277) red front ALX400s are getting withdrawn or moved back to Bristol? I'm going down to Cornwall around the very end/very start of September and really want to get those beasts in hilly Cornwall rather than comparatively flat Bristol.

Thanks in advance.

It was 33072 for most of July until the schools broke up, as 33072 was allocated a Poltair school run which then did the D5 between 0900-1430.

Ahem....you can certainly enjoy flogging up Park Street and Blackboy Hill in Bristol. Brizzle ain't that flat! If you fancy some B7TLs, there are still a few around the city

32277 is simply vor waiting for a fuel pump. As I’ve said numerous times, they are staying probably until 2022 when cascades arrive. They are not returning to WoE. They will be sold.

Thanks! I read somewhere they might go back to Bristol just before schools reopen so I had to ask here to ascertain.

See my reply above. I’ve explained why it happens. Now you’re making guess work!
So 37008 wasn't on the way to get painted. I just thought with it tracking to Bodmin and the paint being there, it was losing its First colours to become a Lizard.

I was answering the D5 tracking everywhere, not 37008s whereabouts, but yes it did track to the paintshop

Just a thought.... Perhaps First South West could have a special "paintshop" code on Ticketer so that @On the Buses doesn't have to answer interminable questions on whichever vehicle is being liveried next!!
Especially as I don’t generally know! Would be quite helpful as I just approve a batch at a time!!

Does all this mean that non-Truro College schools and colleges will start tracking from next term?

33036 had a full upper deck when entering the Lizard on the L1 today.
Nice to see on its first full day of service.

It was stated a few weeks ago that all school and college buses are currently in full use as they have not yet got the 30 MMCs back from Somerset Passenger Solutions (SPS) for the September college return so as a result allocations are currently all over the place at the moment. This should resolve itself next month.

You’ve misunderstood his question.

Sept 6 is winter on Lizard but still running so weekends with good weather can be open top. Exmoor will have a winter timetable that can be open top in good weather.
Will the Atlantic Coaster have a winter timetable as well? Will Falmouth run all year round too?
Good to see some things are running on beyond the summer. I guess there is winter and winter and there may be a better service on the 'seasonal' routes in September and March than in the depths of say November. To the extent it is not commercially sensitive please can you expand on these and the Dartmoor and Lands End routes as to whether they will run in autumn / winter / spring? Sept 6 is not that far off (sadly)!

Has anyone captured 33036 on the Lizard?
I'm so pleased that it had a full top deck as someone said
I was going to take some photos unfortunately it didn't go around the Village like timetabled, due to being 10 minute late (probaly due to holiday traffic and the amount of people that were on it)

Many local people have stated how nice the bus looks, which I must agree to.

Took a few seconds to register the error, but an FK bus this evening was displaying the old A17 number heading for Penzance.
