32200 and 32207 are to Weymouth tomorrow. I collected 32200 from Penzance this morning to put in place for the driver taking that one. 32207 will be overnighting in Plymouth tonight as a Plymouth driver is taking that one in the morning,
The Wool Station to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door section is the highly lucrative battleground in the area. The X52 over the last couple of years with it's refurbished Gemini half tops and Best Impressions publicity has been the far superior product. The Morebus 30 is being rebranded as Jurassic Breezer this year but will still use closed top Scanias, although they are currently receiving full vinyl livery wraps for this year. (Sorry, off topic for the FSW thread)Interesting if correct as this would duplicate most of Morebus Route 30 but would offer open top format. I'd had thought a potentially successful option would be to replicate the old Jurassic Mule services between Charmouth, Lyme Regis and Seaton with an open top service, especially now Stagecoach have stopped running between Lyme Regis & Seaton.
But the 30 & 31 seemed to provide better and more frequent rail connections at Wool, I noticed the majority of foreign day trippers off the train at Wool boarded the closed-top Morebus behind the open-top X52 I was on (in good weather). The Wool Station to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door section is the highly lucrative battleground in the area. This is what lets them down, they should be branded before the season starts. An unbranded yellow bus could be anything.yes, there was photos posted on Facebook of 37736/7 out yesterday. Neither have any branding yet and only one of them had the destinations programmed.
Yep. And one of them was on the Land's End Coaster yesterday. It's all a bit of a predictable farce regarding the branding. This is what lets them down, they should be branded before the season starts. An unbranded yellow bus could be anything.
They do this sort of thing a lot, where it seems to take all season to get everything in place, and then just as they do, it’s withdrawn for the winter and then scrapped in its current form the next summer.
Shortage of buses suspected as 37789 and 32211 were taken off the route on Saturday with defects.Yep. And one of them was on the Land's End Coaster yesterday. It's all a bit of a predictable farce regarding the branding.

No doubt selected on the basis of affordability and availability.Doesn't that batch have Voith boxes? They wouldnt be ideal for the terrain if they do. They were an odd choice for conversion anyway as their rear fan arrangement takes away an entire row of 5 seats, which is a lot on a half top chop. They might be 2009 and B9s but that's 14 years old already. They're not youthful by any stretch.
The single door conversion (around £10k) isn't really worth it on seasonal open tops. The exit doors also come in handy when tipping out heavy loads. Of course, on classic Enviro 400s, the centre doors can't be removed as they are the second door. The two door model never had an offside emergency exit when built. No doubt selected on the basis of affordability and availability.
I'm sure the air chiller could have been removed if wanted.
Conversion to single door would have been also been a nice to have, but again this would have cost.
Plymouth citybus have converted their ex London E400 classics. They’ve added an offside rear door which presumably adds more costOf course, on classic Enviro 400s, the centre doors can't be removed as they are the second door. The two door model never had an offside emergency exit when built.
Plenty of dual door E400s have been converted to single door, with an offside emergency exit added.Of course, on classic Enviro 400s, the centre doors can't be removed as they are the second door. The two door model never had an offside emergency exit when built.
A lot of councils (definitely was the case in Kent) prohibit the use of dual door buses on home to school transport, even if its passes on regular services, so conversion would be the only option if purchasing classic E400s.Plenty of dual door E400s have been converted to single door, with an offside emergency exit added.
Could I suggest asking Carol on the tweet you’ve quoted? She’s on the local management and engages well on Twitter.I noticed that a picture of the kiosk on Weymouth seafront excludes the X52 on the map. Is this because they are reducing there open tops this year and no longer running it?
Haven’t they just received six additional open toppers?I noticed that a picture of the kiosk on Weymouth seafront excludes the X52 on the map. Is this because they are reducing there open tops this year and no longer running it?
6 president open tops from Cornwall. 2 open side e200 and the open side solo in addition to their existing fleetHaven’t they just received six additional open toppers?
Aside from MonkeyWorld, is the map incorrect?
my understanding is the X52 is being split into 2 routesI noticed that a picture of the kiosk on Weymouth seafront excludes the X52 on the map. Is this because they are reducing there open tops this year and no longer running it?
What’s happened with 32549 & 32638
Yes I recall a registration for a new X50 to the east of Weymouth with X52 to the west.my understanding is the X52 is being split into 2 routes
They're with Cornwall not SomersetI believe they're now withdrawn, replaced by both the old Excel E400s (LK08/SN58 reg) and the ex Arriva London E400s (LJ59 reg)
