I can understand that argument for locomotives, but the inclusion of speed whiskers for DMU’s gives BR Green a bit more merit in my opinion.Doesn't count as preserved if its not repainted BR green...
Or that's how it seems to be anyway.
i understand why railways do that but it is very dull!

GCR have a 101 in BR Blue…
Perhaps now some 2nd gen units have been preserved, we could start to see a handful of 1st gen units in sectorisation era liveries.BR Green is over represented compared to other liveries carried by the 1st gen DMUs.
I think I saw something somewhere, that that is in Regional Railways. I'd be happy with that as there isn't too much of it around in Preservation.I agree on the green DMUs although I do like the whiskers as someone else said. Shouldn't be long till the KWVR 101 is revealed. I suspect that won't be in green although I don't know.
Not sure it's been announced publicly. I've heard three different rumours so just ignoring all of them now.I think I saw something somewhere, that that is in Regional Railways. I'd be happy with that as there isn't too much of it around in Preservation.
There are monthly DMUs running to Mountsorrel on the GCR branch line.
No mention of it in the latest issue of Push and Pull (KWVR magazine). Not sure it's been announced publicly. I've heard three different rumours so just ignoring all of them now.
What liveries have you heard, out of interest? Not sure it's been announced publicly. I've heard three different rumours so just ignoring all of them now.
Blue, regional, blue and grey, but they are all rumours. I volunteer at KWVR and I am none the wiser, although to be fair I haven't asked, and if I had I wouldn't be posting here till they released the info publicly. When I walked past the other day it looked like it's refurbishment was progressing well so it shouldn't be long till we find out. I suspect their KWVR railcar group Facebook page will be the first place the information is released. What liveries have you heard, out of interest?
Especially if you’re visiting from GWR territory!i understand why railways do that but it is very dull!
Like this one at the Midland Railway?Perhaps now some 2nd gen units have been preserved, we could start to see a handful in sectorisation era liveries.
I was referring to 1st gen units being put in sectorisation liveries to match newly preserved Pacers.Like this one at the Midland Railway?
That photo is a proper trip down memory lane for me, with the Metro unit behind!Like this one at the Midland Railway?
I love this livery - Provincial Sector. Only used on 142s, 143s and a departmental class 100 DMU as far as I know.Like this one at the Midland Railway?
Blue grey would be my favourite, but Regional would be just as welcome - either livery would be great with the Metro 144. Blue would be better than green, but it'd not be contemporary with the Metro 144.Blue, regional, blue and grey, but they are all rumours.
That’s why I think RR is the most likely. Goes fairly well alongside all the grey diesels and the WYPTE Pacer.I love this livery - Provincial Sector. Only used on 142s, 143s and a departmental class 100 DMU as far as I know.

The PVR’s 142023 will receive Western Skipper livery in the not to distant futurePerhaps now some 2nd gen units have been preserved, we could start to see a handful in sectorisation era liveries.
It'd look equally good in Intercity...The PVR’s 142023 will receive Western Skipper livery in the not to distant future
Blue/Grey with Metrotrain logos would match 144011 better which is in the livery with the older logo for the 1986-88 period. RR livery didn’t come until 1991.That’s why I think RR is the most likely. Goes fairly well alongside all the grey diesels and the WYPTE Pacer.
But never carried previously by that unit as it was delivered in GMPTE colours.I love this livery - Provincial Sector. Only used on 142s, 143s and a departmental class 100 DMU as far as I know.
I think the class 150/1s carried it when new.I love this livery - Provincial Sector. Only used on 142s, 143s and a departmental class 100 DMU as far as I know.
Close enough though. Hopefully one or two will make it into GMPTE orange. But never carried previously by that unit as it was delivered in GMPTE colours.
Ah correct! They did. I never thought it suited the 150s though, they looked smarter in RR.I think the class 150/1s carried it when new.
It wasn’t a criticism: they’ve made a nice job of it.Close enough though. Hopefully one or two will make it into GMPTE orange.
I personally hate the BR green and maroon liveries, totally over represented. In fact I'd like to see MK1 coaches and DMUs in any colour other than maroon or green.
There's so many liveries to choose from.
Surely this is what you meant?Doesn't count as preserved if its not repainted in rust...
The Wensleydale 143 is in RRI think I saw something somewhere, that that is in Regional Railways. I'd be happy with that as there isn't too much of it around in Preservation.
