It's expected pretty much all the Wirral Line will be 777 operated by then. However the Southport/Hunts X will still be solely 507 operated. That quite a lot, I expected about half of that to survive into 2024.

I think 507002 was last overhauled in the second half of 2018. Based on overhaul it should be one of the next class 507s to be withdrawn when withdrawals of them start again, after the 508s have gone. Also 507013, 507004 and 507032.507026/508126
507001 was overhauled very recently so is likely to be one of the final survivors. 507003 I believe is being overhauled as we speak so is likely to last a while. No idea when 002 was overhauled last.
Do you they need that many for one line? It's expected pretty much all the Wirral Line will be 777 operated by then. However the Southport/Hunts X will still be solely 507 operated.
Southport/Hunts Cross will be the last line for 777s but expect it to be between January and July 2024. 23 units is enough to cover 10 diagrams plus additional 5 diagrams on the Southport/Hunts Cross peak 6 car services. Remaining units will be maintenance spare or to cover any other lines (except Headbolt Lane) in the event of a 777 failure.Do you they need that many for one line?
So will the Southport line go over to 777 operation in mid 2024?
Hopefully the trusty 507s will be on duty for Aintree next spring.Southport/Hunts Cross will be the last line for 777s but expect it to be between January and July 2024. 23 units is enough to cover 10 diagrams plus additional 5 diagrams on the Southport/Hunts Cross peak 6 car services. Might we still see 507s support the Grand National next year? Hopefully 8 car 777 working by then.
I noted an image of it last week and the 'silver' livery side 'looked' clear of any grafitti, so I would say yes.I have question. Is 507001 still tagged, because its seems it was tagged in about late July, early August, so does anyone known if it has been cleaned yet?
Where could I find the image please?I noted an image of it last week and the 'silver' livery side 'looked' clear of any grafitti, so I would say yes.
It is on one of the 'Facebook' local groups. I think 'MerseyRailways 2.0'Where could I find the image please?
Not the same one but here's one I took of it on ThursdayWhere could I find the image please?
507014, along with 507030 was working the ECS (5D17) from Birkenhead North E.M.U.D to Kirkdale C.S this afternoon. I presume its been fixed. 507030 was the unit involved in the fatality at Hightown last week. That’s not good. Could be the end for that unit then
507001 passed me at Hamilton Square today. The silver side was indeed clean…I didn’t see the yellow side.I noted an image of it last week and the 'silver' livery side 'looked' clear of any grafitti, so I would say yes.
Thank you.Not the same one but here's one I took of it on Thursday
I only make 22 left, or 23 if you include the soon to be scrapped 507026...It’s been confirmed on the Mersey railways 2.0 page that 23 507s will make it into 2024
That’s interesting. Will have to keep an eye out for any more 507 going. If so numbers could be well short of thatI only make 22 left, or 23 if you include the soon to be scrapped 507026...
507014 back in service this morning, working with 507030 on the Southport line.
Yes, to confirm, there are only 22 507s left in service: 507001/002/003/004/007/010/011/013/014/015/016/017/018/020/021/023/028/029/030/031/032/033. It has been mentioned several times that no more 507s are due to leave until all the 508s have gone, so the 22 remaining should make it into 2024 barring any major problems.
Loco didn't go this morning so it's been cancelled.Has the scrap move of 507026 & 508126 been cancelled this morning?
The loco path to Birkenhead North E.M.U.D seems to have been cancelled according to RTT?
Presumably it will be cancelled thenHas the scrap move of 507026 & 508126 been cancelled this morning?

Do we know the reason for a 777 (once again) being unavailable? For those interested 508111 is hanging out on the Ormskirk line today. On the diagram that includes the 08:16 from Central
I believe looking at the Mersey 2.0 group that it’s been done deliberately as it is it’s final ever day in serviceDo we know the reason for a 777 (once again) being unavailable?
There were quite a few enthusiasts out to see off 508111 on its last passenger working, the 1934 Ormskirk - Liverpool Central tonight. I managed to ride its last working by complete chance - a happy accident.
111 does not bow out in brilliant nick, but the motors did sound nice and it kicked up a fair speed. It's a pity they didn't run it with fellow advertiser 507002 one last time.
Duff gen from a certain Facebook group I'm afraid, and not for the first time. Looks like it's on the Ormskirk line again today.I don’t know why?!
