I wonder if they plan on making any official announcements on it as they are leaving it till last minute.

Also just thought that means the rushcliffe villager and harlequin are due replacements soon so I wonder what they will get unless they wait a few more years and get something like the yutong E9L or E100MMCev unless they wait a few years till the my15/sixes or a few of the spares needs replacing and getting old versas who knows.

Not been derby in a while is trents x38 getting decent loadings on board compared to arrivas?

They've already made an announcement here: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/latest-...-the-midlands-bedfordshire-and-the-south-east

It varies, I had to wait at traffic lights the other day and an arriva x38 pulled up and there were a few passengers on it. I got trents later in the day and was relatively full. Might of been because it was out of derby onto the a38 first so it picked everyone up leaving arrivas to catch up. I often see arrivas have a few on while trents carry alot more but alot of the time it does vary. I tend to find arrivas are running late too where as trents are on time leaving trent having to pick most of the passengers up.

Must do

Doubt notts would want merc versas really, they tend to steer away from them and only had them when they were struggling and Kinchbus loaned them a few. If allestree got new busses then it could be enough to replace the sr's on v3 and rushcliffe. Would mean 506 would need to be replaced by something bigger (unless 269 transfered).

To be fair Ilkeston networks SR's seem to struggle more than derbys and Nottingham so it could also just be langleys srs that are getting replaced until something more suitable comes along for V3/RV1

To be fair when I've seen them, trent's are usually heavier loaded, helped by the decently fast drivers and relatively slack timetable. During off peak hours rarely anyone actually gets on at Derby bus station, a maximum of 5 people I have seen get on arriva's there. Most people get on at Victoria Street, usually a case of whatever comes first (should pretty much always be trentbarton's - they don't seem to run late because of the aforementioned timetable and a shorter distance from Corporation Street to Victoria Street than from the Bus Station). During peak hours there isn't a huge difference.. but because there is always one more trentbarton bus on X38 on a weekday they probably have greater passenger numbers than arriva's overall.

One of the Arriva ones last night had literally no one on it. It was about 1930 though going to into Derby. It seems to vary probably depending on who gets to the stop first but trent seems to have more consistent loadings whilst Arriva can have a couple on or nearly a full bus.

I go for Trent when I have the choice as Arriva always seem to struggle to get any speed up, so even if the Arriva leaves first it gets over taken on the way. Plus it's cleaner.

Mickleover Enviro 200MMC 315 appears to have had an incident in Mickleover before 13.00. I am told there are pictures of it on Ladybank Road? with a green skip lorry into the side. Locals suggest the lorry moved forward as the bus went past it.

Trentbarton even say that a Villager Enviro 200MMC has been involved in a road traffic collision. Timings suggest 301 at Rolleston.

Not the best photo but 703 ventured back onto the villager last night. Langley Mill's 747 is currently out on the route as well.

Kinchbus are probably extremely relieved with the flooding in Leicestershire given they are struggling to operate their remaining services let alone the ones that are supposedly unable to run due to flooding.

TM Travel acquired ex London Solo 1149 appears to have entered service. Solo 468 seems to have transferred to Notts and Derby.

Perfect timing for Kinch this evening as the route of the 9 becomes usable just as vehicles become available through other services finishing for the evening. I'm sure the earlier suspension had absolutely nothing to do with vehicle shortage despite the buses being rerouted onto other services almost immediately when it was suspended this morning.

If a bus breaks down a fair distance from its home depot, does the home depot service van attend to it, or one from the nearest depot? Say a Sutton or Langley Mill bus broke down in Derby.

Sometimes red arrow coaches come off route in nottingham and head to nottingham depot, so id assume the nearest depot van, same with my15s from ema going to kinchbus depot. I'd assume it would depend on whos available to go out to a vehicle too.

I have also seen i4, Indigo and Nines Enviros on the pits at Meadow Road. On the one hand it is a fair way to send a van from a faraway depot, but sending the local van stops them doing planned working their own fleet.

It all depends on where the resource is at the time, ideally if a breakdown occurs in Derby then it would be Meadow Rd that would attend - sometimes a resource from Sutton would be nearer or might be available, if say the Derby team is in Bakewell / Burton then that would be the case & Sutton would attend.

Sutton breakdowns in Nottingham are often attended to by Manvers St engineers (or any breakdown Hucknall or closer to Notts)

Ripley / Alfreton breakdowns are often dealt with by Langley Mill and likewise if a 33 breaks down in Mansfield/Ashfield Sutton will attend.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Anyone know what's happened to swift? Seems like most of their vehicles have had to come off. 847 currently sat in the bus station looking like it's taking over a Uttoxeter run

Derby seem to be up the proverbial without a paddle today, 1 bus on V3 (should be 2), 2 buses on swift (should be 5) 4 buses on X38 (should be 5), 4 buses on villager (should be 5), 4 buses on red arrow (should be 9!) amazing performance from ‘the really good bus company’

Mickleover, allestree and HQ seem fine though... 106 doesn't seem to have made an appearance on another route like it did the other day

Was just on 80 and it seemed to have seats blocked off with said seats being wet. Looks like they are trying to avoid taking it out of service for a small problem

Not helped with the issues on Uttoxeter road this morning leading to hour long delays.

The villager had 4 out of 5 buses yesterday as well but at least there was 3 spares were on the X38.

Mickleover should be fine though with 2 extra buses compared to the PVR.

Yes, car fire on Uttoxeter New Road saw Trentbarton buses diverted via Abbey Street and Burton Road, presume then Chain Lane. 841 seemed to have a funny turn on 6.2, turning at Duffield and back towards Derby down Abbey Hill. Red Arrow seems to be back to 5 coaches. Good old 74. Now if it was the railways, it would probably be down to frozen diesel. Many a time, I would arrange winter grade diesel from October. Trentbarton use bio diesel. Presume there is also a winter grade.

Perhaps they could help themselves, and many passengers, by coming off the X38.
