Used to do Calais as a foot passenger regularly pre-Covid and it's a lovely little day trip. Try the Lace Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, go up the town hall belfry, have lunch in the town square, and see the white cliffs from the other side (on a clear day)!

It seems there are far fewer sailings available for foot passengers however - previously you could get them all day between approx. 08:00-20:00, whereas now you seem to be limited to a maximum of three sailings each way (and it seems like less outside of spring/summer). Still, it's better than...

This fare seems to be missing. Oddly enough, there are fares available from East Tilbury and Grays (the adjoining stations to Tilbury Town) to Southminster. The problem comes because I want to take a journey from Gillingham (Kent) or another station on the North Kent line, to Southminster...

Ongoing progress reported in the Kent Online. Interestingly, they say the first stage of this project is set to be completed in 2023.

Annoyingly, they seem to have removed it (it was specifically mentioned in the update yesterday). Perhaps there wasn't agreement from all TOCs?
