    Stansted “meet and greet” parking.

Its worth checking for reviews of the meet and greet parking services. I read one news story about one which had left the car parked on a street. For 4 days from May 14-18th https://www.stanstedairport.com/parking/ quotes £104 for me with the Blue short stay car park, £92 for the mid stay and...

Do you think that the UK switching to electric vehicles is realistic?

£10k for a battery sounds like a bargain, when Lexus are charging £938.06 plus £15.99 for shipping in 3-4 working days for a grille badge https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-nx-phase-1-grille-emblem-2/ That is a "Sale" price too. This deal was discussed on Twitter

Do you think that the UK switching to electric vehicles is realistic?

The WLTP range for a Corsa GS is 222 miles. That range is meant to be a consistent number that you can compare between different models of car, rather than the range that you would get in real world driving. A 6 % drop in charge in 9 miles would give a pro rata range of 150 miles. Its not far...

2024 Local, Mayoral and PCC Elections

The Conservative and Labour parties are both coalitions with power sharing deals. First past the post means you get to choose one or the other. Proportional representation means you can get coalitions with power sharing deals between a range of parties, which are a closer match for the people...

    Formula 1

It was the last Grand Prix I went to. The week before, I was asked to go to Milan to teach a training course the following Tuesday. I checked the calendar and noticed the Grand Prix. I asked a friend if he wanted to come. We booked flights and a hire car and watch the race. The day before I...

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

I would always check some reviews, rather than trusting a brand name for a hotel. Personally, I don't care too much about the catering in a hotel, or a worn carpet, but I do about mould, damp and poor cleanliness. Any hotel can have noisy guests, but its good to see how the hotel handles it...

Starting short on Liverpool to Norwich route

Would it help to park at the intermediate station, get a single to Liverpool and then use your original ticket? Your car would end up at the right place, and you wouldn't need to worry about ticket inspections.

    GB News

... or that the quality of programming on GB News is not of a high enough to attract adverts from media giants. That would matter for a commercial organisation, perhaps not one with funding from investors with deep pockets.

A Cambridge tube coach, is there a case for it?

There have been a couple of stories in the Cambridge News on the Flixbus routes from Cambridge: https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/i-took-28-bus-cambridge-27744458 https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/i-took-35-coach-cambridge-28880327 If you are looking...

People buying houses with associated noise (churches, railways etc) and then complaining about the noise?

One issue with bells is the bell ringers. I used to live across the road from a church where the bell ringing was random, rather than rhythmical. I met another bell ringer who said that it was because that church had bell ringers who were more interested in drinking than campanology.

    Special Offers Discussion

Cambridge-Sheringham is £12 which is a bargain. Ely-Norwich is now £12 and Norwich-Sheringham is £6, but there aren't any Ely-Sheringham tickets, just the £24.10 day return. Is it OK to get a Cambridge-Sheringham ticket and join at Ely? Otherwise, it is cheaper to get an Ely-Cambridge return...
