England and Wales interurban bus map

Oh I can't get to the Map as the link sends me to Reddit, whatever that may be. I used to be able to download your superb map from a pdf here as you have done with the express night buses, which I have downloaded to my iPad.

Help to find an article in a Magazine. Horbury Horse Worked light railway.

Different line, ended up being British Oak not too far from where the M1 goes over the Calder.. Have that history, the one I refer to was exclusively loco worked and had Staiths at Horbury Bridge.

Worth hunting out the magazine as it gives a good history of the line with a track plan of where it went.

Help to find an article in a Magazine. Horbury Horse Worked light railway.

Found it, October 2021 in Backtrack ‘The Flockton Waggonway - Richard Lee delves into early industrial railway history in the West Riding of Yorkshire coalfield.’. So many thanks @ge_rik . Nothing like how I described the name, but this is the article. Put onto the index by a guy in G Scale...

Help to find an article in a Magazine. Horbury Horse Worked light railway.

Hi I was recently researching the death of what I believed to be a family member back early last century. The lad's name of Dunford - my family name - was sadly run over by a horse drawn coal wagon from collieries at Middlestown, near Horbury Bridge Yorks. There was a 3-4 page article in a...

Thanks one of my own taken in the Harz Mountains during one of 2 Steam Railway tours to the lines that I was on just over a decade ago now.

England and Wales interurban bus map

Looking at the updated maps, have you thought about adding Swanage that has I believe 2 routes, one via Wareham the other from Poole via Sandbanks. The Sandbanks route is a cracking journey via the Poole Harbour Chain Ferry.

    The history of Bletchley flyover.

You are in part correct, Swanbourne was to be a major marshalling yard along the lines of Healey Mills, Stratford, Tyne, Carlisle and others. It was cancelled in time to prevent the existing Swanbourne yard from being upgraded to a mega yard but not before the flyover was built. See post 4 link...

England and Wales interurban bus map

I think this is a great idea. By now you will have now found out what a task you have set yourself for now and the future. This is especially so with this much needed map as many bus companies do not see the need to supply maps or even bus schedules. Like the 66 from Huntingdon to St. Neots...

An alternative East-West route and end station

Interesting what you say, some of the current thinking in the area appears to favour a Northern route into Cambridge missing Cambridge South Station, that to me appears madness as there are many who need to access the hospital there. Since the Re-introduction of the X5 after Covid it now only...

TRIVIA: Places that National Express coaches no longer serve

We certainly lost National Express service from St.Neots possibly a decade or so ago now. Think it went to Southport so may have been the one mentioned by Lloyd’s above, but not at all sure. Had little interest in busses at the time. As an aside I have been thinking of using a NE service to...

Well Manchester for a start, but would agree may not be many people’s 1st choice except at the moment with the awful service provided by TPE and NR.

Chiltern Trains interfered with by passenger

Sadly with Smart Card or any other “IT” related system, quite likely if Version Control not rigorously followed I can well see the likelihood of a Driver not being able to access the cab. Any one who has worked on the railway will know these foul ups can and will occur. Do we really need another...

Timetable Books From December 2022 Timetable Change

Though I have a mobile on-line timetables are not really the best even when available, where are the full .pdf’s of the full timetable from TOC’s. Indeed we are at a race to the bottom of the pile currently in the U.K. Timetable wise. That nice guy in Rail has linked a private enterprise...

    New Adlestrop Railway Atlas

My thanks too, the only map worth it‘s name on any device. I keep a copy on my iPhone, so useful when out and about. Ability to zoom in cannot be praised highly enough. Just Scotland to go, I imagine Glasgow will also be an interesting challenge for you.

East West Rail: Bedford - Cambridge will it ever get built?

Trust me Longsands, Eynesbury are very relevant to the station as is the Kings Road, East Street and Avenue Road area. Just look at the prices due to being around 10 minutes walk from the Station. Some parts of Winteringham when completed will be almost if not further away.

East West Rail: Bedford - Cambridge will it ever get built?

Busses to Cambridge certainly very busy at peak hours. However since the service dumbed down and not running so late in the evening more now deserting the bus and using car. Black Cat to Caxton dueling of A428 at 1.5Billion would suggest a need from both Bedford and St.Neots for EW line.
