How wise are ppl to this unit arrangement? I’ve heard many ppl looking / acting puzzled when trying to get to the other part of the train

What’s the point of this movement?

Just been on a Northenr train passing Romiley and saw a TPE train going the other way. No engineering works to Stockport so decided to look it up. It appears there was an ECS movement from Manchester to Chinley East junction and back again. But for what reason?? Photos attached

Could the Heart of Wales timetable be improved?

hmm yes I’d say it was obvious because if the usage was high enough, they wouldn’t have the cost pressures…? It all boils down to money. If it was used well enough to cover costs, it would have continued

Could the Heart of Wales timetable be improved?

Obviously they are removing the late night SHR-LLO and return due to low usage. Does anyone know if it did get used in some capacity or was it literally empty each time it ran? I’m assuming the return back to Shrewsbury would likely be empty

    Unexplained speed restrictions

Thanks for this. The Disley/Middlewood one has indeed been longstanding. Cant see it being fixed anytime soon. And I agree the Hague bar one is more recent. Bet this persists too

    Unexplained speed restrictions

There are currently 2 sections of railway where trains crawl and I’d like to understand the rationale behind it. 1) Halfway between Disley and Middlewood going northbound ONLY, the train crawls to like 5mph on the edge of Lyme Park. Why?? Never used to do this in previous decades. And note...

Tank Containers on the Tesco Inverness Train

For those wondering, the Natural Gas SIUs in Scotland are Campbeltown, Oban, Wick and Thurso. There is also apparently one in Wales. - In response, I believe Llanwrtyd Wells is the welsh location for the independent gas network. *Wouldn’t let me quote original post*

    Avanti Ticket Checks

The ticket to ardwick is wasted if the guard checks tickets on the train

    Avanti Ticket Checks

    Could have been warrington??

    Avanti Ticket Checks

I don’t think people would really buy a Devonport ticket and board a train going the other way?? Most barriers are setup so they don’t let you through on a child or railcard ticket without a manual check
