MSTS is a very very old game and isn't equipped to simulate "gapping" (breaks in 3rd rail). In fact from what I can remember it can't really simulate 3rd rail at all (other than the route being made overhead electric and the wires at 0m), it was usually a case of making the whole route overhead...
*You will never get a green mainline aspect onto a red, its just not done. The signalling in TSW has been poor ever since the game came out, one of the reason I dumped it. Shame to see its still not sorted.

This sort of thing used to happen with racing games as well. Not sure if its still the case but some manufactures in some games don't like to see their cars covered in dirt or damage.
New one out is Railway Empire. Haven't played it but looks to have very similar mechanics to Transport Fever but also has tycoon style management. USA based and a bit pricey tho.
Raildriver!?are you sure or is that what you have heard? The raildriver console is so far away from anything realistic or resembling uk cabs you might as well use an xbox controller.

There is no hard and fast rule about new sims having to be scrolly. It depends on the individual developer so if he prefers paged, the sim will be paged and vice versa.
Personally I prefer scrolly as its easier to get where I want without having to remember whats on which page. Plus extending...
Why not just get a new laptop rather than a tablet? A tablet may be cool and easy to carry around but what you gain in portability you will lose in performance and price.
About the only tablet capable of running games half decently is probably the i5 and i7 surface pro 3, but they are...
While this is true for TS2015, it won't always be the case. Dovetail Games are already working on the next gen version of Train Simulator and will be using the unreal 4 engine as a basis. That means that current gen stuff is very unlikely to work with it. That's probably at least 18 months away...
