That looks to me to just be 66701 still in its original livery after having a few years to fade, against 702 recently painted. The orange was quite vibrant on the first batch of locos when new.

I think there might be something there with 66741, though; looking at photos the delineation between orange and yellow panel appears much less distinct when newly painted.

66701 was repainted into the sandier shade of orange - with integrated warning panel - later in life. The blue is darker than original too. The GBRf logo was also modified to be in a lighter typeface.

20901 & 20905 were reported to be running together today on 0802 0V74 Derby RTC to Didcot Fuelling Point, in the end it left 98 late with 901 working solo and is currently on 1807 5Q81 to Bristol Kingsland Road (Fhh)

It appears to be a SIM (Switch Inspection & Measurement) wagon delivered by road from Holland, it will be used to monitor points in the Bristol Temple Meads area this week, fairly unusual to see a 20 running nose first on NR rails

Indeed it is, a Sentinel SIM14 wagon to be precise. Martin Loader caught it passing Shrivenham on 5Q81 en-route to Bristol:

It happened quite often between Grosmont and Whitby, when the North Yorkshire Moors Railway had a pair of 20s on hire a year or two ago.

I think a number of single class 20 movements have taken place in the last few years. The only BR stipulation used to require a 2nd qualified person in the cab for signal sighting, if running nose first. Used them singly at Bescot for many years on trippers but I imagine LSL and the various DRS Michael Owen and HNRC locos have moved singly and maybe also on the LT ?

A collision did happen in Grosmont station but from a personal perspective the fact it was a class 20 was irrelevant. Several crew on the only footplate of the loco, and they collided with the coaches of their own train.

GW11 was taken to Ely Papworth by 37608 on 26th July and AFAIK it hasn't moved since so I have no idea where that person who added the note got the idea that its being added at Brandon from!

Confirmed, heard them heading east leaving Brundall on Acle line about mid afternoon on 9/8/23. Returned west past me running just as 2 engines at 16:30, Great Yarmouth to Norwich via Reedham. Stopped for 10 mins at red signal in Strumpshaw. Footage is of the pair accelerating away from the red signal in Strumpshaw, E of Brundall. Unusual sight for this line!

After a bit of rest and recuperation 20901 & 20905 are scheduled to work tomorrows 0858 0Z20 Barrow Hill LIP to Bristol Barton Hill WRD, they have joined Balfour Beatty, pool code BBXX, although it's not clear whether they have been sold by Harry Needle or are being leased, 0Z20 will be operated under the RailAdventure (SO) ID code, hopefully further news regarding the work they will be doing will be announced soon
