But none of that matters because they are built in UK! Personally I would have bought Siemens - nicer train and seem to work!!
Out of curiosity, does anyone know how far along they are in making the rest of the 377 fleet compatible with the 377/6s?
Fairly certain I've just seen an UID 377/6 working with 377405 out of Victoria.
Does anyone know the numbers of the two Southern emus stabled at Willesden Junction today? They were both brand new.

I believe there are a few with the new software to work with 6 series (owing to a shortage), not sure if the new software is to be rolled out to existing 377s, it would make sense BUT this is the railway we are talking about.
On Thursday all units bar three of the 377/4's had been loaded with new software to make them 377/6 and 377/7 compatible.
Saw 377/419 earlier which looked as if it had a brand new coupling part? Is this to do with the compatibility with the 377/6s?
Currently, in the December 13 - May 14 timetable, there are only 8 units out on a Saturday, but they're out all day and will pass through Clapham Junction.
Thanks again for your progress report in April. I now know that I am going to Croydon on a Saturday in a few weeks. I should reach Victoria around 10.45-11am. So, do you or does anyone know whether there are likely to be any class 377/6s departing in the following hour or so? I am willing to change at Crystal Palace, Sydenham or Sutton if necessary.
No problem! Okay, based on what you've said...
At Victoria, between 10:45 and 12:00 on a Saturday under the May timetable, the following departures should be 377/6s:
10:53 to Epsom
11:01 to Dorking
11:06 to Brighton (x2 units, 10 car)
11:13 to Caterham
11:36 to Brighton (x2 units, 10 car)
11:43 to Caterham
11:49 to London Bridge
11:53 to Epsom
12:01 to Dorking
All of those departures, except from the two Brightons, should be from platforms 9-12. They will also all be different units, so that's 11 you'll be able to get.
Also worth checking for engineering works on all them routes on your chosen Saturday as it may change allocations.
Note, I stress that those should be the plans, but as the /6s aren't proving hugely reliable at the moment any one may well be allocated to different units last minute.
Bumping an old thread to enquire what Southern are using on the evening WLL services - I see on the platform screens that they are formed of 8 carriages and that certain doors will not open at Wembley - what combination of units are they using ?
Worked my first 377/6 rather than just PASS for the first time the other day.... How someone managed to fit the guards key switch upside down in beyond me!![]()
8 car 377/2 have been used on WLL services for awhile now alongside the 377/7.
When I travelled from Clapham Junction to Milton Keynes Central on the 4th September, the 1339 was formed of 8 coaches, which would've become the 1513 to ECR. According to the guard it was the second day of 8 car service too.Which services are 8-car? I've not yet seen any and use the line most days.
Loving the 377/7's on the southern trains up WLL, just works well as a passenger. Except the 17:13 Ex Milton Keynes which has no capacity for passengers when it calls at West Brompton at 18:24. Now if that was 8 Coaches!!
