Floorwalkers are an instructor who travel on board the service trains to help out with any issues with the units and a bit of a refresh for staff as its a long time since some people have been on one since their training. What is/are floorwalker?

Yes that's right. So just to clarify there should be a total of 38 8nits (27 2 car and 11 3 car) in service very soon including the 15 we currently have?
That's huge. A massive step up and nearly half of the total order of 77 in total.
38 accepted units. They won't all be in service. Around 6 a day are required for driver training. Still should enable a big jump up from where its currently at.So just to clarify there should be a total of 38 units (27 2 car and 11 3 car) in service very soon including the 15 we currently have?

Hopefully some three carriage units will help on north Wales to Manchester Airport services or Cardiff to Holyhead etc maybe allowing some services to be a pair of two carriage units38 accepted units. It'll also help training as once units are accepted they can be used for training without a CAF technician which takes one layer of complication out!
Indeed. And the trouble they have been having with the 175s in recent months they wont want to keep them any longer than they need to. Lets hope by September there will be a lot more of 197s in service.38 units is more than the entire class 175 fleet of 27 units (16x3, 11x2).
So you can see why the plan is to retire the 175s imminently.
Thanks for the info. Wonder what will come north on the later path.197111 on 5Q78 Crewe-Landore
It's been like that since beginning of last week bar the occasional set swap.I fact 2 197s out on the Holyhead-Cardiff's today,

197004 on 1V94
I also saw that 3Q70 Crewe-Holyhead & 3Q71 return ran again today. Any ideas on which units this was, 2x 197/0s yesterday?
Ah thank you, just the single unit today then. Still haven't found out which 2 it was yesterday

Yes it is.Isn’t that one of the ETCS fitted units?
Indeed, good to be starting to get those units out testing and hopefully have them in service before they head for the coast.Isn’t that one of the ETCS fitted units?
