This delivery run is 701 006, I believe?
Just in case this hasn't been picked up on, I believe these are now, or will shortly become, Alstom Aventras https://railcolornews.com/2020/07/31/fr-ca-alstom-bombardier-merger-approved/
Could the 458s be the first rolling stock built since privatisation to be replaced with more rolling stock built by the same manufacturer?
720s replacing 379s on non Stansted services. Anyway this could be a new thread if anymore examples are thought of.Just in case this hasn't been picked up on, I believe these are now, or will shortly become, Alstom Aventras https://railcolornews.com/2020/07/31/fr-ca-alstom-bombardier-merger-approved/

Yes, overnight testing in late June in the Weymouth area. Link to SWR twitter video (Weymouth) in post #1657, and there‘s a YouTube (Wool and Wareham) in #1674.Has a 701 run under its own power on SWR metals yet?
60 x 10 car, and 30 x 5 car, 90 units total. I’m sure they’re supposed to get the deliveries up to at least weekly, should be more. The four units delivered to date have come, on average, once a fortnight. is that likely to be the approximate pattern now for the remaining 56 701/s?
Are there any on test today?
Along with several on the SWML, presumably yes. Some runs as required services to Dorking tomorrow with the 5Q headcode, are these 701s?

Neither today atm, both diagrams activated but none running. There are several 5Q diagrams dotted around the network, including two that have been put in for this tues/weds (11th/12th) only. Up the main from Eastleigh, then one is a couple of Dorking runs and back to Eastleigh down the main, and the other is a couple of rounders then back to Eastleigh via staines etc. Guessing they'll just run one or the other. Or neither, who knows.
Waterloo has been experiencing signalling problems this morning, that's probably why.Very odd, got to woking then cancelled the whole diagram completely.
Just seen a video which seems to suggest the 701s have a whistle rather than a horn (or rather a recording of a whistle rather than a horn) which seems slightly odd; is this correct?
Possibly, though this was in a station... take a listen to this video from two and a half minutes in:Depot whistle? 377s have that as well as a horn.
