Were you intending to travel there in order to reverse and to reach Monton Green.

The reversal could have been made earlier at the open station of Eccles.
To be honest, I don't know quite what I was intending :oops: . I've struck out my "Weaste"; that the more sensible course may be taken --likely by somebody else !

(can I note that the first station site at Parkside was on the L&MR main line between Parkside Junction and Parkside West Junction - i.e. west of both the second station site and the east curve coming from Lowton Junction, so we wouldn't have passed it on this journey).

Sorry, but that is heading in the wrong direction. From the Parkside area, we pass through the open stations of Newton-le-Willows and then Earlestown and from there take the line of the Warrington and Newton Railway, where the first closed station to be met on that line is that of.......
