Surplus means more than is necessaryWhy won’t any trainee drivers be taken on in the near future and what is meant by the term surplus?

This year’s courses are going ahead. They are reviewing from 2023I think they'll be a pause on trainee recruitment, surplus means they've more Drivers than they need.
No mate I have heard nothingAnyone heard anything recently?
And with a start date with DB cargo too, nice position to be in!So today I was placed into the talent pool for Leeds. Best of luck to anyone still in the running!
Best to be mindful though that CrossCountry and DB are both a part of the same company, so best to stick with the one to avoid any potential upheaval. And with a start date with DB cargo too, nice position to be in!
I was placed in that 2 years ago pal! Good luck!So today I was placed into the talent pool for Leeds. Best of luck to anyone still in the running!
I'm in exactly the same boat but I'm wanting Leeds. Not been placed in anything and haven't heard a thing since application day in January.
Still says in Process (I applied for Birmingham). I heard they're reshuffling where they need people so hopefully once that's done they'll start recruiting people.
For which depots and did you start with CrossCountry?Yes - two courses started in June
There are a few different depots on each course. I’m Bristol and was CrossCountry staff anyway. For which depots and did you start with CrossCountry?
Heh, you're one of the people I lost out to at Bristol then lol, I was one of the 11 or so they actually interviewed - not that I'm blaming you or them, it is more fair that those who actually have put the effort/dedication in roles at CrossCountry should be prioritised first...There are a few different depots on each course. I’m Bristol and was CrossCountry staff anyway.
Do you work for CrossCountry? There are a few different depots on each course. I’m Bristol and was CrossCountry staff anyway.
Yes - 20 years as a train managerDo you work for CrossCountry?
There is someone for Birmingham on my course but I don’t know when the next courses are planned forany idea when CrossCountry will be recruiting for Apprentice Train Drivers at the Birmingham New Street depot?
Numbers and depot allocation haven’t been agreed yet for next yearBeen very quiet on this thread of late. Has anybody heard anything about trainee courses in the last few months??
