Does anyone know it's diagram today? Is it coming to Nottingham at all?
It’s started from Cambridge:
2K57 Cambridge to Stansted Airport
1N47 Stansted to Birmingham
1K13 Birmingham to Leicester
1P16 Leicester to Birmingham
1L44 Birmingham to Stansted Airport
1N67 Stansted to Birmingham
5H67 Birmingham to Tyseley

Why are the first 7 units keeping declassified 1st?
Possibly since the specification for the refurbishment was set before the decision to remove first class from services. The timing of the decision may have been too late to change the specification for the first units undergoing the refurbishment, with a revised version covering the rest.

Just seen a few pictures of the inside courtesy of @RMcCarthy86 on Twitter/X: https://x.com/RMcCarthy86/status/1894663134108885301.

Unfortunately, the seats look to be flat cloth. The new displays seem quite simple, I believe in a new enclosure. Plug sockets, also with USB-A and USB-C.

Most of this we knew already of course. But I quite like how it's turned out in all honesty, I'll have to try and catch it soon!

I've attached some of the photos below.

Is this the former first class area?

How long until all the units are completed? Are the limited number of 2 cars being done as well? Might have to get myself to Nottingham to try it out if I get a chance

All being done at Crewe depot. 170112 is the next one at the moment.

Happened to see it pass Attenborough this morning on a VSTP move (nothing in RTT) heading towards Nottingham.
I'll reserve full judgment when I get on the unit and view the interior, but the external livery isn't as bad as I first thought.
These and the EMR 170s are now my bread & butter since I changed my PE postcode for an NG one; as with others on this thread, I eagerly await those 170s too.

My review of 170101: Well what can I say...after seeing the progression and new livery first hand at work I can say I'm very impressed with the final product. The train looks very smart now and the seats are really comfortable. I tried both the red and blue seats and both are comfortable. Plug sockets and USB chargers at the backs of seats and on tables. The cab looks good as well. Overall like I sausage I'm impressed

A well improved impression from what they currently are. Travelled on it from Birmingham New Street to Nottingham and back again. Photo opportunity at Derby on the way up.

How are the seats compared to the old ones?

It looks really smart. It reminds me of something that I can’t quite put my finger on.

In fairness the seats couldn't be much worse than the old ones. They were some of the worst designed seats on the network in my experience. To much cushion and not firm enough to support you. I'll be glad to see the back of them both at cross country and the EMR 1705xx units.

I am however aware that my view is subjective and some do like them. That's the problem with seating I like harder seats as they provide greater support but others hate them.

I don't understand why the declassified seats are turquoise and not uniform with the rest of the seating...it just makes it look messy to me.

Were they not able to order any more burgundy cloth when the plans were changed to remove First Class accommodation?
