Thanks. The Notts and Derby vehicle was originally the same as the Lothian one I believe. My dad repainted it a few years back as it is the same bus I use to get to school.I saw one at Bromsgrove (I believe) in September and it was quite the surprise. Certainly nice to see though!
Very nice. It's detailing away from the railside which makes a layout look so much more realistic. Liking the liveries on those buses too!

Exactly where the station is based offThat’s got a real essence of Penzance about it @43055.
Ah that's cool. Gives it a local (very much so!) connection.Thanks. The Notts and Derby vehicle was originally the same as the Lothian one I believe. My dad repainted it a few years back as it is the same bus I use to get to school.
The variety of stock you've got always interests me. The range of colours in the privatisation scene really does come into its own when you can see so many of them in one go!Dale End Lane advent day 4:
The strike continues. Due to no room on the depot overnight 158741 and 170301 reside in the center line of the station with nothing to do until Monday while 153379 prepares to operate the 1515 service alone.

A few years back I had more ScotRail but the 158 is now the last of the Scot Rail fleet and has been hiding in a box for most of the year.I never expected Scotrail to feature
Another colorful formation for you todayAh that's cool. Gives it a local (very much so!) connection.

Dale End Lane advent day 5:
Today we see GBRF 66731 moving a spare EMT buffet to another EMT depot ready for the new timetable. For the last few months it has just been sat around doing nothing and taking up space and with more room needed for stabling next week it has finally been taken away with some EWS flat wagons acting as barrier vehicles.

An N gauge dinosaur so not too scary!I must admit that I’m a bit of ‘set in the 1980s dinosaur’ when it comes to model railways, but I really do like the imagination you put into some of your consists on your railway.

They are good models and considering it is a Lima body? they are quite details. Fortunately I haven't needed to add more weight to mine.Ooh very nice!
The Hornby 66s are good models really aren't they? Yes they don't have lights (and mine needed a bit of extra weight but I had some weights lying around from some HST powercars), but the sound is superb if you fit it because there's so much empty space inside!
-Peter
Thanks. Certainly get a lot of combinations on the EMT/LNER HST's with 2 different sets and 6 power cars like about this time last year on the MML.I must admit that I’m a bit of ‘set in the 1980s dinosaur’ when it comes to model railways, but I really do like the imagination you put into some of your consists on your railway.
I think a lot of the reason for me needing to add the weight was because of the superelevated curves at each end of my layout; some engines struggle going from the flat straights to the banked curves, particularly with a load on.They are good models and considering it is a Lima body? they are quite details. Fortunately I haven't needed to add more weight to mine.
Wow - just as @Iskra says, it's cool to see how far you've come with the layout. Funny you should mention the platform; I've just been building a new piece. Quite easy with the Metcalfe kits (which looks to be what you've used there?) but occasionally a bit fiddly!Dale End Lane advent days 6 & 7:
Missed yesterdays advent so here is 2 pictures from the early days of the layout before Dale End Lane existed on the Rail Forums. The first is the first line up of stock in the carriage sidings in late 2018. At this point I had a Virgin 221 but was later swapped for a Cross Country version. The second image is early 2019 with the first platform in place (built on Christmas day 2018).

Thanks and yes I do prefer the red 221's for traveling on!Wow, it's good to see how far you have come!
I prefer the 221 in red to be honest!
Yes it is a Metcalfe kit for the platforms (like most things on the layout). Quite interesting taking it up the stairs as I constructed it as one long piece.Wow - just as @Iskra says, it's cool to see how far you've come with the layout. Class 08s and 09s just have that workhorse feel to them - probably because they've spent so many years in that role! Liking that livery.Dale End Lane advent day 8:
A joco doing what joco's do best. In this case shunting the daily fuel train.

Yes they are card kits. Can't say by who as they were already made when I brought them.Love it. Are those buildings card kits?
Look'ing at them i think some of them are Superquick. The give away is the windows as these are printed on.Love it. Are those buildings card kits?
Dale End Lane Advent days 12 & 13:
Start of a new era at Dale End Lane with the first regular daytime loco hauled passenger services as part of the timetable change. To begin with it will be a single daily round trip between Dale End Lane and Cardiff departing in the morning and returning in the evening.
68008 and 68019 prepare for the first departure to Cardiff at 0851.

I keep saying this, but that's a lovely range of stock - and actually a really nice view over the station. Very modern image indeed!Dale End Lane advent day 14:
With engineering works (yes on a weekday) forcing everything to be buses gives a chance to see the full regional DMU fleet parked up on the depot waiting for the reopening on Friday morning.

After the engineering teams have replaced the pointwork at the station 66731 has now come forward with the ballast train to drop the new ballast in place.

haha like it.Dale Enders latest episode . . . . next episode on the train sim channel . . . .
Thanks. Just loaded the 68 in quick drive to try it out and the HST loaded in the opposite platform. Not worked out how to move the 68 yet. Just made a lot of noise! Now that is clever.
