Alternative trousers are a better fit and have pockets on their trouser legs.

Thanks for this Steveo , saves me asking the same question regarding the trousers !

Aced, I was also looking forward to putting names to faces but as I won't be at Toton that may have to wait !

Anyone else for Knottingley ?

I rang Lindsay with the very same question this afternoon, she said to leave it blank.

That was what i guessed, standard trousers=ordinary type trousers, alternative trousers=cargo type trousers.

I also asked Lindsay about this, she said she wasn't sure, but thought the same as me.

Right so to confirm you have to leave address bit blank on both ppe and driver clothing forms? Think i will go for cargo as as someone said above probably be alot more comfy and movement friendly :)

Hi,

A nice fat envelope was waiting for me when I got in from work. All bits filled in, passport photo obtained but where is the actual contract and learning contract that is referred to? There is the three page letter with the offer of employment and details of location and pension arrangements; is that it? The only bit to sign was the acceptance form (as well as the other forms). Does that constitute the contract or am I missing some paperwork?
Knottingley for my training too!

Yes i completely forgot about the learning contract agreement which had been mentioned. I believe the 3 page document is pretty much your contract. Did anyone else receive a learning agreement?

I will call Lindsay tomorrow morning and clarify the situation. Who else is going to Knottingley?

Anyone else? Rob and Paul, do either of you live Manchester way? Lift sharing perhaps? Spread the costs of travelling? I'm in Stockport.

Jim I'd be happy to consider it once we have the lay of the land after the first couple of weeks.....I live on the Wirral......however unless you have your own Skid Lid and protective gear, and are happy clinging on to my back getting there and back , I dont think I should be the one providing the wheels cos I've only got 2 !

Ha ha! Yeah, I don't do bikes, definitely a four wheels (or more :D) man here! For everyone's info, I spent a frustrating day trying to contact Lindsay regarding the learning contract agreement. I think she was out of the office and/or off work today, as I got nowhere!

Yep, Lindsay was out of the office Friday, I spent most of the morning trying to get through on the phone. I then sent an email, and got an automated reply saying she was not in, and would be back Monday.

Roll on Monday.

Does anyone know if there's going to be the opportunity to earn any overtime once we've left the classroom and gone to our respective depot's?

Depends on the location but there is enough to keep them who want it ticking over where I am.

Right, finally managed to speak to Lindsay. We have NOT had our contracts yet. The thick envelope with the three page letter is our OFFER of employment. Once HR have received our acceptances, checked references and made sure we are eligible to live and work in the UK, THEN we will get our contract which will include the learning/training agreement.

This is certainly the case for me and, I suspect everyone else too. More waiting!

That's good to know mate. I had wondered about that but also tried calling on Friday so just returned everything that was there.

To your question a few posts back. I'm in the centre of Manchester so yep, lift sharing once we know what's going on with the training could be an idea :)

Looks like I am on the May course now. Bit gutted to be honest, just wanted to start as soon as possible.
Oh well, at least I have a job in the meantime which pays alright, suppose it means I can put some money aside for the pay drop.

Good luck to everyone starting in January!!

When I had my DM interview they asked my availability for a mid February course if the Jan one was full. Keep your fingers crossed that this is still on!

Hmmm, when she phoned with the verbal offer she wasn't sure if it was going to be a January or May start.
I've just re-read the email from Monday and it says "We couldn't accommodate everyone on the January courses so you will be starting on the May course".
Well, here's hoping for an earlier start, but I'd better not actually hold my breath.
