Beestons always have and continue to do a substantial amount of school work including quite a few private schools and have an excellent reputation in terms of that. They also and continue to do private hire work for a number of companies.
The 91 is currently two buses a day for most of the day operating the timetable, there's one bus that does Hadleigh to Ipswich shorts that has fairly quick turnaround times at Hadleigh, it's only waiting about 5-10 minutes or so before turning around and the first trip of the morning from Hadleigh is normally heading straight back out after arriving in Ipswich according to bustimes.
I guess we will see what happens. There was talk of Beestons getting a bunch of Euro 6 deckers a few months ago, apparently they were supposed to be arriving April/May but there is no sign of them yet. Whether that is a sign of things to come and them possibly finishing that side of the business and it going out to Ipswich Buses remains to be seen.
But I can tell you, should Beestons stop serving the 91, the service provided will not be any better by Ipswich Buses, who have the depot at the wrong end of the route which will include a lot more dead running back from Hadleigh in the evening to Ipswich and the opposite in the morning and probably will mean that the Sudbury end of the route will be completely chopped.
The thing about Beestons is their maintenance is excellent (go look at their 18-19 year old Omnidekkas in the white livery that put fleets under half their age to shame), the services are reliable and they do everything in their power to make services run, even when others simply just take the easy option to cancel. I can't see someone like First etc giving as much of a damn about places like Hadleigh or Sudbury as Beestons, who lets not forget are one of the countries oldest bus companies who are run by Hadleigh people.
