It could be to do with the confirmed re-structuring of the meridians mentioned in the latest Modern Railway magazine. Apparently the sets are to go from a fleet of 4x4 car, 17x5 car and 6x7 car to 23x5 car and 4x7 car.
I mention this because it would certainly be better if all units were in the same livery to prepare for this and not have do deal with any coach anomalies.
Yes certainly interesting stuff. So the 2 7-car 222s which are reduced from 7 to 5 will donate there 4 coaches to 222101-104, one each, so go to 5 cars then, thus removing 4-car 222 operation. Keeping 4 7-car 222s is sensible as they can be diagrammed on the busiest service (prob 3 out of 4 be diagrammed daily?) 3 first class coaches for the 7-car 222s is too much so let's hope one can be converted back to standard in them on the 4 which stay 7 cars. 222101-104 are quite wasteful as theses 4-car units have 1 1/2 first class coaches and even off peak std class can get busy due to the low capacity.
With the re-entry of 180110 (as a 4-car as mentioned on another thread) whether a 3rd 180 diagram will start soon, I believe it was planned for when these entered service there would be a third but only ever been two.

No one knows! I think it’s most likely it will be put into interim livery to match the rest of the fleet. But that’s only speculation. They could totally do a 5th coach, but it could also cause confusion keeping the corporate livery when the 810s start and people assume it’s one of the new trains and it just turns out to be another dirty meridian inside!

It is certainly interesting and probably also helps to prepare the timetable for the introduction of the 810's. There was a third 180 diagram in the Dec 2020 timetable but since May only 2 diagrams are known about.

It isn’t the interim livery, whilst it is a temporary solution solely for the launch of Connect back in May, it is still simply an evolution of the original corporate design (as seen on 222104).
I don’t mean the same interim livery as the 222s. It may be a different livery but it’s still an interim (temporary) livery - a livery that carries EMR colours and branding but is not the final one
I spotted a freshly painted 360 waiting on the Hendon lines to be given access to Cricklewood this afternoon, I’m guessing that 107. Unfortunately I was driving at the time so a glimpse was all I got!

170512 returned to Tyseley from Crewe so is probably now in purple with WMR branding. 170513 has made it's way to Crewe today so is likely to be the next unit to be repainted.
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before, but I noticed that Gainsborough Lea Road has new EMR signage when going through it earlier (at least on Platform 2; Platform 1 seemed to be devoid of signage from what I could see).
