Have any of the remaining 16 units at WMR moved to EMR following a few of the 196 units entering service?
No, although I would have thought some are due soon. Post #1,433 alludes to transfers starting this coming week.

I was under the impression that it was going to be a one-in-one-out arrangement in terms of 196 introduction and 170 cascade. I believe three 196s are now running; so 3x 170s should have come across by now? :s

Would be 6, given the 3 that are running are 4 cars. But if they’re gradually increasing the diagrams, I would imagine that a whole lot of them would move all at once.

156414 and 156418 have departed this morning, there's a path in tomorrow for a Tyseley to Barrow Hill move that is presumably the next 170 departure from there.

The pressure now is to get the 156s out to create room to commission and service the 170s - Etches Park and Eastcroft are both full.

I thought 156414 went last month?

Not sure it’s been mentioned yet, path for tomorrow for a WMR 170 to transfer across.

Six seems rather a lot. Currently there's only one or two per day being used on Hereford via Worcester services. The awful 172s have taken over relentlessly.

I think it’s 3-4 170s used on the Worcester side per day (someone with better knowledge will be able to confirm), meaning there be a few spares to cover for maintenance

Nice photos. I see it has signs at both ends that look like the non-multi ones, but it looks like they say more than just non-multi. I wonder if they say something about the different couplers?
Did anyone manage to see what these signs say on 170922?

It may be me but has anyone seen the stickers on the corners of some of the passenger windows stating that a refresh is coming soon, I am sure they are a new thing? or are they old?

They've been there for 2 years and are on the 5 x 170/4s

Specs have since changed - no more FISA lean seats, just topped-up moquette and power sockets.

Forgive my ignorance but how does Barrow Hill fit into these stock movements?

Is work being done there or are the sidings being used as a temporary holding point for some transfers?

Temporary holding point I think. For example, on the ex-TfW 170270+271+272 move to EMR, 170270+170272 went straight to Etches Park but 170271 carried on to Barrow Hill due to lack of space at Etches Park.

So loathesomely lazy
More that the DfT won't sign off the extra cost of a refurbishment with the new seats. As far as the 170s are concerned there's not much wrong with the seats they have now anyway, sure the ScotRail seat moquette is looking tired on those units but there's nothing wrong with the seats themselves.

Barrow Hill is being used for short term storage because of space limitations at Etches Park and Eastcroft depots.
