The black coaches just don’t show up as the train goes through the countryside. Stick with the regular TfW livery - coaches & locomotives.
Not very likely. Unless things change it Looks like the diagram reverts to working 1W11 again on Monday rather than 1W13 like it was this week. What are the odds I'll have a mk4 rake on the 0536 from Swansea Monday morning?
It was started at Chester with a 197 due to no crew. It definitely didn't get to Holyhead an hour before it left Chester though!Hello
What happened with this 67? - if it was a 67 - got to Holyhead very early and no reports of it passing hardly anywhere or stopping.....

Dam It . Would have been nice to have something interesting. Mind you 8ve only got a 8 minute connection at Cardiff into the 0640 Nottingham serviceNot very likely. Unless things change it Looks like the diagram reverts to working 1W11 again on Monday rather than 1W13 like it was this week.

Nah, they should reverse it so that red is the main colour. Would stand out really well thenThe black coaches just don’t show up as the train goes through the countryside. Stick with the regular TfW livery - coaches & locomotives.

A lighter colour might well reduce fuel and maintenance costs due to a lighter aircon loadNah, they should reverse it so that red is the main colour. Would stand out really well then
Good point; I was thinking about it from the point of view of a standard class passenger, and overlooked that the guard can go through first class.Hardly. It's a minor nuisance, you're not stranding the guard in one set with no access to the other.
Well red is lighter than black. In any case, a 67 providing HEP is going to guzzle fuel whatever colour the coaches are painted.A lighter colour might well reduce fuel and maintenance costs due to a lighter aircon load
I'm getting on at Pyle at 0603Take the 05:28 GWR
1W13 does not even run every day, never mind whether or not it is a Mk4. The ECS comes from Canton in the morning and often the unit is not allocated until the last minute.
To be fair though, when it does run 1W13 keeps time well between Swansea and Cardiff.
And will continue to drink fuel for as long as the Batteries and Converters on the Mk.4s are broken, or until a decent shore supply is installed.Well red is lighter than black. In any case, a 67 providing HEP is going to guzzle fuel whatever colour the coaches are painted.
In the case definitely pay attention to check whether the train is running.I'm getting on at Pyle at 0603
Its better run im.booked on it to Cardiff Central, then the 0640 crosscountry service to Birmingham New Street to change onto the 0952 service to Leicester as far as south WigstonIn the case definitely pay attention to check whether the train is running.
I understand Pyle is useful because a lot of people get on/off from 1W13, but it surprised me when Pyle moved from "service stop unadvertised" to being a full stop. All the other stations between Swansea and Cardiff are also served by the GWR (admittedly either 10 minutes earlier, or later but then missing the connection into any 1W13 starting in Cardiff), but the passengers at Pyle get missed if 1W13 does not run.
It's a 150 diagram again now. Oddly the Manchester on 1 diagram has been replaced by the old diagram today, 06:48 to Holyhead and back before doing the 17:14 Cardiff to HolyheadGreat news. 1W61 was back to a single 150 yesterday!

Not necessary....the first class carriage is marshalled between the buffet car and the Driving Van Trailer. Are passengers not permitted to walk through first class to get between the standard class coaches?
On the original set 1st was between 2 standard coaches and it is on the 5 car sets too which are formed TOE-TOD-SV-POD (1st)-TO so that wheelchairs can always alight at short platforms. Not necessary....the first class carriage is marshalled between the buffet car and the Driving Van Trailer.
OK. Thanks for the clarification. My premise was based on my own experience of travelling on the route. On the original set 1st was between 2 standard coaches and it is on the 5 car sets too which are formed TOE-TOD-SV-POD (1st)-TO so that wheelchairs can always alight at short platforms.
Standard passengers can walk through first and have to to get from the isolated standard coach either to the buffet or to a door at short platforms.
How many diagrams are there to Cardiff/Holyhead these days? It's a 150 diagram again now. Oddly the Manchester on 1 diagram has been replaced by the old diagram today, 06:48 to Holyhead and back before doing the 17:14 Cardiff to Holyhead
That’s excellent. Do you know locomotive HD02 currently has? Thanks.Tomorrow should see 6 sets out on the mainline for the first time.
HD01,02,04 and 06 on the passenger circuits, 06 should do a now rare daytime Holyhead working 1W91/V96 rather than a Manchester.
HD03 should be moving from Crewe to Cardiff for tyre turning and HD07 is planned on a test run Canton to Hereford and back.
The only missing set is HD05 which is on a heavy exam at Crewe which will enable it to go onto the new maintenance regime with more days in traffic.
67029 is on HD02.That’s excellent. Do you know locomotive HD02 currently has? Thanks.
Nice to see W91 & V96 loco hauled again. Nice capacity boost for the coastTomorrow should see 6 sets out on the mainline for the first time.

Usually only 05.33 Holyhead to Cardiff and 17.14 Cardiff Holyhead. How many diagrams are there to Cardiff/Holyhead these days?
Normally it's just 05:33 from Holyhead down and the 17:14 from Cardiff back up.How many diagrams are there to Cardiff/Holyhead these days?
