An air leak from a damaged valve seems to be the issue. Enough air was lost that the brakes can't be released. Not to sure what was up with it but 67017 (HD02) broke down in Piccadilly

On Traksy there's now a 1Z99 near Longsight, so maybe the rescue for 67017?
Ah yes, I can see it went that way. Not a good day for failures in the Manchester area. That's will be for the failed 331 at Gatley
Looks to eventually have moved to Crewe this morning

1W55 today , 22/07, has restarted from Crewe today after 197104 working the train delayed 102 minutes due to an "operational incident" at Craven Arms.
(for some reason keeps merging rather than replying - apologies to subscribers who are apparently getting notifications of my attempts to stop it)
Journey check says fully cancelled due to train fault, RTT still hasn't reported it as of now.Tuesday 23/07 and HD02 has decided once again that it would prefer to stay at Piccadilly rather than work, currently having issues departing with 1V50 16:30 to Swansea

Looks like the 158 is covering for a 3 car 197. I hope the air con is working!Unfortunately the train behind it is a 2 car 158. That’s going to be cosy, and rather exceptionally warm I’d of thought!
Quite a struggle for units by the look of it today.Looks like the 158 is covering for a 3 car 197. I hope the air con is working!
It was impressive, it made it a couple of carriage lengths down the platform.Journey check says fully cancelled due to train fault, RTT still hasn't reported it as of now.
I'd planned the 1630 today Shrewsbury to Swansea, and ended up on the 1V97 Holyhead to Cardiff which runs before it from Shrewsbury. A pair of 153s!It was impressive, it made it a couple of carriage lengths down the platform.
They managed to move it just in time for the 18:30 to get into Platform 5. Was glad I had not gone for the 16:30 today.
HD02 is proving to have some terrible reliability at the moment, having different faults almost every time.67025 + HD02 now on the remainder of the diagram today, 12:30 Manc - Cardiff, 16:49 Cardiff - Manc & 20:30 Manc - Crewe.

Are we expecting all 4 diagrams to be fully covered for the rest of this week?HD02 is proving to have some terrible reliability at the moment, having different faults almost every time.
Today's was yet another dragging brake on the DVT, an issue which seems to be becoming increasingly common cause of failure across the fleet.
There were 6 available sets so a spare at both Canton and Crewe, it's a good job availability of both locos and sets is high as reliability in service these past couple of weeks has been pretty abysmal and seen regular use of spare rakes and mid-day loco swaps to keep the show on the road. It's what the spares are for but utilising them most days isn't really the plan
Yes they should be barring failures. HD03 is on light exam for a couple of days but everything else is available. Are we expecting all 4 diagrams to be fully covered for the rest of this week?
Desperately needs it. 02 seems to be working fine one day, fails the next. Too oddly consistent and doing that and can't last more than a few days. It needs to be the first one on the line for repairs or refurbishment in the future...02 isn't far off its heavy exam, the only set not done so far on the second cycle so maybe it'll be pulled early to get to the bottom of it's many issues while it won't be missed.
I wonder if its almost worth trying one of the spare DVTs that are at Landore, although they may need a little work too. Either that or shelve HD02 in favour of HD08.HD02 is proving to have some terrible reliability at the moment, having different faults almost every time.

With the amount of issues HD02 has it would seem to be worth looking at options for it, all the others have mostly had their issues ironed out whereas 02 seems to be collecting faults as it goes.I wonder if its almost worth trying one of the spare DVTs that are at Landore, although they may need a little work too. Either that or shelve HD02 in favour of HD08.

The 08:30 off Manchester was Mk4 today. So at least 1 set is out!
This is very poor isn't it. I thought that we were finally at a point where there were spares?
HD03 May or May not be making an appearance later today. Bit of a VSTP plan.
Only 1 of the 4 diagrams are uncovered and as said above, a spare set may well get used to cover it.This is very poor isn't it. I thought that we were finally at a point where there were spares?
Likely just to swap the loco. It has a fire detection fault so doesn't affect the rest of the set.I see a 0Z67 is on its way to Holyhead at the moment: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:92858/2024-07-24/detailed
Wonder if it’s to swap with the loco on the failed set or to drag the whole lot?
