Yes still paired up.

03 will be on the Holyead start on Monday, Crewe start Tuesday. 01 and 06 may be out but there's a spare set at Canton and Crewe.

05 pretty much certain not to be out Mon or Tues as it's on exam so wouldn't pin any hopes on that one.
Thanks @sd0733 i’l check back Monday and see how the land lies.

Is 05 at Crewe?

Weirdly, according to Realtimes, it states that 013 is now with HD07

Does show as a swap internally which it didn't before. 67013 now on HD07 and 67015 on HD01.
015 only went on HD07 yesterday after 010s fault so unusual to swap again, both locos are due A exams tomorrow too so it doesn't make any odds on that score either.

Understood, thanks.

Going to throw my hat into the ring for some future planning. What's the longest journey you can do on one of the loco hauled sets? I'd guess "The Gerald" or the Manchester to Swansea Sunday service.

Holyhead to Cardiff Central via Wrexham General is a smidgen under 50 miles longer than Manchester Piccadilly to Swansea

Thanks. Nothing in the works but, just checking. Interesting that the TfW app seems to think that SWA - MAN takes longer in terms of time (unless I misread it)

The latter a little bit quicker

Apologies, misread Railmiles again, via Cardiff it is about 215 miles, Vs 230 Holyhead to Cardiff

Everyone's favourite, HD02 has now been stopped for its next heavy exam so will be out of action for the next 2-3 weeks. Hopefully it will be somewhat better behaved than in recent weeks when it returns.

Hopefully they can try and get any issues and niggles sorted out whilst it’s on exam.

Had a lovely lunch on the 1430 from Manchester last Friday. Would definitely recommend. ~£50 is quite good value for a 3 course lunch and 1st class upgrade I think. Those 1st class carriages are very spacious, comfortable and quiet.

Which one is working 1W96 to Holyhead please?

It doesn’t say on Realtime Trains.

Currently unallocated on the internal systems. *Edited* Now showing 67015 & HD07.

It’s also listed on journey check as having no catering throughout so not sure if it’s going to be a unit vice or not

Booked on 1V91 from Wrexham next Tuesday. Are the cooked breakfasts worth the extra money in 1st Class?
I was outraged when they started charging and replaced the complimentary offer with mixed nuts, vegetable crisps and raisins, without lowering the steep prices for first, so I never thought I'd encourage the service, but I tried it a few months back and found the breakfast is absolutely fabulous, so yes.

For comparison purposes, the Avanti "Great British Breakfast" is usually good quality but very small, and although the "Full LNER" is bigger, I find it to be more slapdash quality - you know, stringy bacon and hard yolk, and they don't serve black pudding or tomato. (That said, it's better than a bacon roll which is the most you get on northbound services nowadays, disgracefully) The TfW Breakfast is enormous, and very good quality.

I managed to get a 1st Class advance for around £40 compared to the normal cost of it. I dont mind paying £10 or so for the breakfast, just hope and pray there's no issues with the loco and set that morning!

I dont mind a 197 but would feel cheated out of it, if one turned up on the diagram.

If a 197 turns up don't forget you can claim back the difference of the first class ticket from TFW.

As 6 sets are available more often than not now, it's hoped to start running a 'Diagram 4.5' on an ad-hoc basis when staffing permits to prep the set at Canton and all crew sign. This would mean the 14:49 Cardiff to Manchester and 18:30 Manchester to cardiff beginning to see 67+Mk4 whenever possible before the full diagram is fully and permanently introduced in around 6 weeks.

Can't you travel in standard class and buy the breakfast from the buffet (just without at-seat service)? I thought that would be why the meals are charged seperately rather than being included in the first class fare, but I've never been on TfW's mark 4 service so don't actually know if that's the case.
