A double-decker will be covered in street art for the rest of the year as part of
Upfest's partnership with
First Bus. The bus has been designed by legendary Bristolian street artist Cheo and features many
Bristol and West of England landmarks.
Cheo’s well-known cartoon style is in full display as inspiration comes from showcasing the best of the region in a “bold, playful and unmissable” way. The bus was spray-painted one line at a time over a period of a few days.
This marks the first time that Upfest, Europe’s largest street art festival, will take a mobile artwork piece to the streets of Bristol. The bus depicts places covered by the First Bus West of England region, including a busy cityscape of Bristol, the rolling hills of the Mendip countryside and the coastline of
Weston-super-Mare.
The bus will be in service from Monday, May 13 and its maiden journey will see it go to
Yate and
Thornbury. The bus will continue to remain in service until the end of the year.
