Should Mr Blatter's replacement come from within FIFA or should an outsider get the job?

As the FIFA scandal unfolds it's looking very likely that every world cup venue for 40 years has been obtained by fraud.

The corruption started when Haverlange took office in 1974 and Blatter was Secretary-General.

The French and South African world cups looking extremely dodgy.

I would imagine that the Olympic bidding process is probably just as corrupt if not more.

The IOC is supposed to be much cleaner than FIFA - at least after the 2002 Salt Lake City winter games were awarded!

With the vast amounts of money to be made I think it would be ridiculous to think that the Olympics are any different.

The clean-up after Salt Lake City changed a lot. I wouldn't say the IOC are as pure as the cold driven snow, but they won't be as bad as FIFA.

The idea that Platini- with plenty of financial links through his son to Qatar- is going to be better for FIFA is laughable though.

As for Jack Wilshere, the FA are really showing what a sensible and intelligent organisation they aren't. Say that Spurs are s*** and it's a three match ban; call a man a black c*** and a n***** like England's Brave John Terry did and it's a four-match ban.

Do not draw comparisons in this case. Remember that had been warned by the FA the previous year when Arsenal won the FA Cup and yet seemed totally oblivious of that warning when he did what he did this year, after the most recent Arsenal FA Cup victory.

The man is 23 years of age, yet decided to behave in such a manner somewhat reminiscent of an unruly schoolboy. A three match ban this time may get the message through to him. It is bad enough when football supporters indulge in such stupidity but when a professional footballer playing for a team in the highest reaches of the English Premiership acts in the manner that he did, then the knowledge that media seizing upon a story and the fact that the FA do have disciplinary powers must be known to him.

John Terry should have received a far greater punishment for his offence as he too surely would not claim to be totally unaware of the "Kick racism out of football campaign.

Would this be the same John Terry that was cleared in a court of law? Look I'm a Chelsea fan and I accept JT did wrong but...........................!! He did recently make a point of offering Rio Ferdinand his condolences over the loss of his wife so I think we need to let bygones be bygones.

I think the comparisons are perfectly fair. What Wilshere did is being compared with the actions of Terry by the very act of the FA taking disciplinary action.

And clearly the FA think that saying your team's greatest rivals are s*** is 75% as bad as calling an opponent a black c***.

Given the allegations that pressure was put on Graham Taylor from the FA to not pick "too many" black players, I guess we know what that esteemed body thinks.

The South African FA have openly admitted there was $10m involved, so I think a bit worse than looking extremely dodgy, more like was extremely dodgy.

Out of court settlement. No different to out of court settlements on the prosecution threads here.
They knew FAI had a high probability of winning and therefore settled to avoid court costs etc increasing the amounts.

Watching some FA Cup games on television this season, when the match ball itself was of what looked like a dark pink shade, does anyone think that a normal shade white ball is much easier to follow against the green colour of the pitch when watching when long distance camera work comes into play?

Doubt it, I can't speak for them but I suspect it's a case of the ends justify the means and I'd not be surprised if they were told to do so. Alas whilst the risk/reward balance is hugely skewed in favour of the latter it won't stop (simulation needs to be a straight red and enforced IMO)

Not massively fussed about it. Played about 7 decent games for us where he was very good. The rest of the season he wasn't much good at all. If they use him right then he can be decent. Just another rat deserting a sinking ship I'm afraid!
