I see bonfire Jos has been causing bother regarding Horner!
I heard that ford are struggling with the engines for the new regs. Could Jos be engineering all this to get max out of red bull before his contract ends?

Mighty effort by Ollie in Quali and to be just 0.036 away from Q3 shows the quality of the lad.

Crazy to think he was born 3 days after Tony Blair and Labour’s won their third term in 2005.

Not impressed with Sky, just seen the opening piece, minutes before the Grand Prix and they've still got Carlos Sainz in the driver line up.
Compare that to the circuit who managed to change the banner above the Ferrari pit before Ollie Beardman started his first practice, not just his name but his photograph as well.
Typical of Sky's low standards.

Solid performance from Bearman today especially with hardly any prep on a totally unforgiving track. Never settling for position either, quite of few overtakes but nothing leary. He did look handy in F2 last year though, if a bit inconsistent.

Hard to believe he’s only starting his 5th season racing cars and he’s an F1 driver…

Max Verstappen has won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix with Sergio Perez in second & Charles Leclerc in third. In a fairly steady race Lance Stroll crashed out early on after hitting the wall then crashing into the barrier across. The star of the race was Ollie Bearman who finished seventh & got driver of the day. By holding up a number of drivers Kevin Magnussen enabled his teammate Nico Hulkenburg to gain the last point but had 20 seconds of penalties due to overtaking off the track & squeezing Alex Albon towards the wall.

I think that is an FOM supplied graphic rather than a Sky graphic. The same occurred last year when Liam Lawson filled in for Daniel Ricciardo.

Bearman did well and outshone his performance in F2 but will he get a seat in 2025.
He’s listed as a test driver for Haas. A good showing in F2 this season and one of Magnussen or Hulkenberg underperforming?
But we didn’t get any new drivers at the start of this season, so there are presumably a few promising young drivers out there looking for a seat.

Personally I think he should be in ahead of Ricciardo who apart from being media friendly hasn't done much since his return.
From showing earlier promise hes lost something that a year out has given him back so needs to be moved on. Bottas needs to go as well we need young talent with energy and fight in the mid field.

Felipe Massa has filed a lawsuit against FIA, FOM & Bernie Ecclestone over the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix Crashgate scandal. Representatives of Massa filed it on Monday as he believes the result of the race should be null & void. Reportedly Massa is seeking compensation between £60 & 150 million.

The 2008 Singapore Grand Prix is controversial as it involved Nelson Piquet Junior deliberately crashing which enabled his teammate Fernando Alonso to win the race. Massa scored no points after a botched pit stop when he drove away with the fuel hose attached & Lewis Hamilton scored points in the race. Infamously Hamilton beat Massa by 1 point to win the 2008 World Championship.

In an interview last year Bernie Ecclestone said there was enough evidence at the time to have investigated & have the result thrown out.

And Magnussen, Stroll and Perez. Too much dead wood for such a small field.

F1 needs at least 2/3 more teams, Indycar manages to accommodate 30 cars on road/street courses shorter than Monaco... At least then there would be the potential for more driver churn and opportunities for young drivers.

There are reports that FIA chairman Mohammed Ben Sulayem is being investigated for allegedly intervening in the Fernando Alonso 10 second penalty at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. According to reports a whistleblower has said the he attempted to interfere with the result by getting Alonso’s penalty overturned. It was the touching the car incident whilst serving a penalty for not parking in the grid slot properly which caused a mechanic to be seen touching the car with the rear jack.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem has been cleared of the above allegations after an FIA investigation.

Former F1 driver Nikita Mazepin has had EU Sanctions which have been imposed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine since 2021 lifted by the European Union’s General Court.

Any more laundry for the circus to air or is the basket empty? I'd quite like some weekends which focused on, er racing, rather than various types getting het up over X said/did Y etc.

Was he personally sanctioned, or was it his sponsor?

That's great news! I'm sure teams will be falling over themselves to sign him for 2025.

As I understand it dad Dimitri appears to be Nikita’s major backer by sponsorship via his company Uralchem and its subsidiaries. Dimitri has been regularly seen with Putin.

Dimitri has been reported to be sniffing around F1 for some time, even trying to buy several teams to create a strollesque set up for Nikita to drive for.

Susie Wolff has filed a criminal complaint against the FIA with regards the alleged conflict of interest with Toto Wolff that occurred at the end of 2023.

Carlos Sainz has said he will be the first to admit if he is not fit to race the Australian Grand Prix. Ollie Bearman remains on standby to replace Sainz. The FIA will also check on his progress. If not required he will race in Formula 2 as normal.

Am i the only one, when they read of various F1 news snippets, immediately think about how it will be portrayed in next season's Netflix show?

This morning, Alex Albon crashed his Williams beyond repair and so Logan Sargeant will not be taking any further part in the weekend, whilst Albon will!

Of the 28 points Williams scored last season, Albon scored 27 of them. If you've only got one working car and have to choose between the drivers, it doesn't seem unreasonable to pick Albon.
