Oh right, just assumed they were all afternoon. Maybe it’s because of the distance? Must have all day sessions. I’m happy it’s afternoon for me. Where roughly are you in the country?

I’m in Manchester so it’s about 45 mins to an hour’s drive. But still don’t fancy chancing the M6 in the morning hence the plan to stay in the hotel where are you coming from?

I'm coming from Wolverhampton. My test is on the 23rd August at 1300. I'll be there bright and early.

It all kicked off this morning. I’m pleasantly surprised that they evaluated the applications so quickly. Glad that I’m no longer refreshing my email every two seconds. 29th August in Crewe. Happy days. Good luck to all. Commiserations to those who didn’t get the nod this time.

Congratulations to those who progressed through to the psychometric tests! Let me know if I can be of any help with the tests, I passed them a couple of months ago :D

Reading the email again it states to get to know you and see if working for freightliner is for you

That suggests possible group interviews as well as the assessment?

My email just says this.. reason why I am bothered .. I don’t want to think I’m going to only do one test and then click the link and then have two! And haven’t mentally prepared for both! Haha. So is this just standard email or did others say both tests?

Mine said both - but, even if you do log on and find both, you don't have to do them both, you can do the SJT and it will save your result meaning you can log out and do the VSE later on...

I assume you’ve done the other one fairly recently? In my original email they said we had to do both in my email as it was Freighliner’s policy? I’ve attached a snippet

Usually I’d say perhaps you’ve already done it and passed for another TOC?

But the email did say even if you’ve done these tests before, Freightliner require you to do them again. I’d say it was therefore an error.

It’s best to get in touch with them and ask in case it ends up costing you by missing one.

However you do have an email stating only one test so that would help you if anything was to come back on you

Has anyone been sent any practice material for the DFFT test? It's not mentioned in the pack they've emailed but it says we will have to do it on the day, seems a tad harsh!

There were three attachments in the email. One large 84 page book by RSSB and some of their own practise material (OPC).

Ah right you are - my email programme only shows one attachment at a time, it always catches me out!

Bloody hell the DFFT looks like a beast!

I thought that, and I couldn’t even begin to get my head around it in the few minutes I checked it out earlier. I’m hoping the ones on the day are more intense than difficult. From the one I did a few years ago I was pleasantly surprised to find the practice material was more complicated than the actual assessments :D

The DFFT is very similar but I would say harder on the actual test. It's also very hard time wise (20 in 15 mins). So don't dilly or dwell. Stay calm work fast and trust your answers I would say. It's all logical and the answers are all there so nothing to catch you out bar the pressure.

Agreed the Dfft is hard. But just take your time. I managed to get to question 14 out if 20 and passed at enhanced. Just take your time and don't rush into any mistakes. I thought I'd failed it but heard it's all about accuracy. Good luck to all. Mines on 24th at 9am, my birthday, hopefully I don't have to retake tests again too and have asked the question.

Hi,
I completed the OPC tests Thursday gone, haven't heard anything yet. Just wondering when everyone else completed theirs especially with hearing that results are in for some.

I completed mine on Thursday too which was the day before the last day I was allowed to complete them. I’d imagine there’s hundreds to get through hence why they say allow 25 days?

I'm sure £29 to £30k was mentioned here somewhere as a training salary, the £47k once fully qualified with a year or so under your belt? Not 100% on that though? I did a forum search and read somewhere that it was £18k for a few months, before rising to £24k and then steadily rising up to £37k still whilst training. The thread I found was very old though, so I'm hoping my first figures were more accurate ;)
