Good news for Cornish services, but cringey PR

Is this the actual future deployment or what you think ot should be? I tend to agree with what you suggest, just a shame that lots of 10s will be necessary due to the daft number of 5 car sets GWR are lumbered with.
If only there were some way of making trains flexible in length, so you could have 9, 8, 7 etc. Perhaps a big pulling machine on the front and a variable number of carts pulled along helplessly behind. ;)

Heaven forbid! If they had plumped for that option at the start we would be in a much much better position now in terms of appropriate train formations.

...and some kind of revolving machine at its destination to turn the big pulling machine around so it can face the right way again when when returning?

Perhaps they could even invent a pulling machine which can run in either direction without needing to be turned around? Not to get too far into the realms of fantasy, of course. They could even take advantage of off-the-shelf components and put a great big minehunter engine in it ;)

Yes, perhaps put one at each end. That way there is no need to either turn round or run round, but less freedom to add/remove the carts for self-loading freight. I suggest a nice blue and yellow colour scheme.
