Anyone know why an iet just got scrambled from NP via pad then off to Newport? 5Z81/82 on vstp.
I'd guess a crew training run. There are a lot of crew to train.Anyone know why an iet just got scrambled from NP via pad then off to Newport? 5Z81/82 on vstp.
OK thanks, they've just added 5Z83 back to pad now, wasn't there before.I'd guess a crew training run. There are a lot of crew to train.
800 018 on this saw it at Swindon running nearly an hour late going towards NewportAnyone know why an iet just got scrambled from NP via pad then off to Newport? 5Z81/82 on vstp.
You can get all four current diagrams - thus eight haulages - quite easily if you have the time:
11.45 Paddington - Reading.
12.34 Reading - Paddington.
14.15 Paddington - Reading.
15.05 Reading - Paddington.
No one knows yet.I would like to do an 800 on Saturday 23rd Dec around late morning/lunchtime from Bristol Parkway either to Newport or Swindon. What's my best bet?
Gives me an idea for the 21st December if I do a Thames Rover![]()
There could be a Class 800 on one of the Swindon-Cheltenham shuttles on Sunday as the stock to form 1G14 09.37 Swindon-Cheltenham is booked off ECS from Stoke Gifford:

Does anyone know what 800 units are at Stoke Gifford tonight that coukd be available tomorrow morning for the 06:00 Temple Meads to Paddington please? Many thanks.
You can currently get 8 weekday IET trips in on a TR, I did it the other day. It would be 9 trips but for the 1730 off PAD not being an off-peak service (be careful of that, most fasts are peak from 1600-1915).Gives me an idea for the 21st December if I do a Thames Rover![]()
Yes there are. Your link above also states:There aren't evening peak restrictions on a Thames Rover: http://www.brfares.com/#roverdetail?nlc=I367&rvr=TR3
Thames Rover (3 day) here: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/pr8b1e090a040002006976d6b4091c35.aspx
I will be going to Exeter for the new year. Where is the closest these things pass to Exeter, or would I need to go all the way to Paddington?

As to what that counts for as haulage depends if you class haulage as having to travel in the actual unit or just somewhere on the pair!
1048 RDG-PAD 1114
1145 PAD-RDG 1210
1234 RDG-PAD 1259 or 1304 RDG-PAD 1333
1345 PAD-RDG 1410 or 1415 PAD-RDG 1440
1505 RDG-PAD 1532
1803 RDG-PAD 1831
1900 PAD-RDG 1925
2008 RDG-PAD 2036
In fact, if in that list above you include either or both of the "or" options (1304 RDG-PAD/1415 PAD-RDG), that should (assuming they all run on the day) bag you all four diagrams (8 units) in service that day.Somewhere in the pair is good enough for me![]()
At the moment only one return journey:Thanks for all the replies. Which IET diagrams pass through Taunton, and at what times? And do any stop at Bridgewater?
^Okay, where do I ask about opportunities to ride?
