Probably not a lot to buy/lease but I bet it's cost a fortune in tests... has it been on test for about a year or more? Seems like it!!!

About £430,000 I think. Cheap to run though, 2000 mpg per passenger. Basically a Ford Focus engine for 40 passengers.

About that, train carriages are £1-2 million to build new these days. But they last 20-35 years or 4-10 million miles. The Parry people movers are ideal for short branch lines with low loads and have low track wear. I think the SVR was looking at buying one for a commuter service.
