Keep up, it's only been like that for the last four yeàrs.It turns out I was wrong anyway, it seems the loaned EMT HST rake works the Hull Executive diagram so that’s probably what they’re trying to get rid of first

And that's despite the fact that LNER already received two power cars from EMT which they've re-engined and repainted into their liveryIt isn't loaned, it's a full LNER HST set! (Although the Powercars are confusingly still in EMT livery)
All GWR 800’s & 802’s have the same engine power output - 700WThe 800s have the same engines as the 802s, it's just that the DfT has limited the power output to save fuel/money on Maintenance.
Some GWR 800s have the engines 'uprated' and they'll outperform an HST from 0-80mph
And that's despite the fact that LNER already received two power cars from EMT which they've re-engined and repainted into their livery
700W is less than 1hp, which would struggle to move a train. my understanding is that on GWR, the 802s are on a 940hp "power map", some of the 800s are on a 750hp "eco map" and some of the 800s are on a 940hp "eco map". Not sure what LNER are going with. All GWR 800’s & 802’s have the same engine power output - 700W
I'm fairly sure he meant 700kW...700W is less than 1hp, which would struggle to move a train. my understanding is that on GWR, the 802s are on a 940hp "power map", some of the 800s are on a 750hp "eco map" and some of the 800s are on a 940hp "eco map". Not sure what LNER are going with.
That makes more sense, and I realise now he was referring to the generator outputI'm fairly sure he meant 700kW...
LNER haven’t re-engined any power cars. If you take an extra set, normal practice is to need something to power it...And that's despite the fact that LNER already received two power cars from EMT which they've re-engined and repainted into their livery
Yes - 43061 & 43075 - both still in EMT livery - have joined the IECP pool code for LNER powercars. The hire is as close to permanent as it can be without repainting them, so permanent in fact that 43061's lost its "Fearless Foxes" nameplates....so LNER now have a couple of VP185s...? or did they take a couple of the ex-Grand Central buffered MTU power cars...?
Ah yes, sorry, tired typo, all GWR 800/802 are running at the 700KW setting.I'm fairly sure he meant 700kW...
I was talking about 43272 and 43274LNER haven’t re-engined any power cars. If you take an extra set, normal practice is to need something to power it...
I know what you were talking about. I was just pointing out that LNER did not re-engine them.I was talking about 43272 and 43274
43096's right, you know. They transferred to East Coast, when they were still the franchise operator - to be more pedantic, BRUSH re-engined them after transfer to East Coast.I know what you were talking about. I was just pointing out that LNER did not re-engine them.
And Porterbrook paid for it!43096's right, you know. They transferred to East Coast, when they were still the franchise operator - to be more pedantic, BRUSH re-engined them after transfer to East Coast.
I should probably hand in my pedantry P45 then. And Porterbrook paid for it!
Most likely, pending any further farces. There've been 3 Azuma test workings in quick succession through Peterborough most of this week - 5Q55, 5Q65 & 5Q75, all roughly 10 minutes apart. Power draw testing, perhaps? This thread for talking about the new rubbish has drifted into a discussion on the old rubbish.
So are we looking at May for the first passenger service?

Very possibly true. I made a stab in the dark at May (this year!) as the timetable change is (as always) due then, but April isn't a bad shout for a few "preview" diagrams prior to squadron service. No, I think it's April

Any news on the EMC testing around York from a few weeks back? LNERs top brass were thanking all the suppliers on Twitter etc for co-operation which you could have read as being successful- but nothing seems to have been issued officially and test trains still seem to be Diesel in York.
