Hi Guys, for those of you on the current CSA2 training courses can I ask how many trainees are in a tutor group, and are there more than one tutor group running at the same time?
I need this info to explain to the Job Centre why I haven't started my training yet.
From the 'yellow' spread sheet post above there are 456 successful candidates to be put through the training - although some of those will have already finished it.

I Had the same problem with the job center, you just need to send them your conditional offer email, they should continue to pay your UC, from my own experience, TFL onboarding told UC automatically that I was employed by them and my payments reflected from training
Just spoke to onboarding and the lady said they have paused new training dates till may , she said since I’m august candidate most likely will get training dates end of summer maybe September, craziness

Ouch, looks like I'm going to be stuck at my toxic job a little longer than I imagined. I actually called onboarding this afternoon as well and the lady I spoke to said there were no training slots available at the moment and when they do come up they will be for the July offers.
She was very apologetic for the long wait but I told her I fully understood that the recruitment process is for a two year window, it was clearly written in the job description - hopefully it won't be September for us though.
I did think about getting a new job in the meanwhile as my current job is painful to remain at but I am scared that it will mess up my current onboarding with TFL. I've already completed my reference checks, documents and tax related information previously and if I started a new job TFL may turn around and ask why my P45 or current employer are different than what I applied with. I know it's silly but I really don't wish to mess up my CSA job.
Its going to be a painful long wait but the reward is going to be worth it.

Can I ask if you are CSA 2 Fulltime, or CSA 1 Night Tube? It's hard to fathom this out, as I imagine the roles would have to be taught separately.
I'm an August 2024 job offer for CSA 2.

I'm in the same position (toxic job and everything) - however I resigned from it when I was told I got the CSA 2 job offer on August 2nd - as I had to give 3 months notice.
I signed on with the New Style Jobseekers Allowance (contributions based) in December (£90.40 a week, plus NI contributions paid for me), but I am expected to be actively looking for work. I do have some savings to fall back on.
Today's news on this forum means I will now actually have to apply and do interviews in order to keep my claim active.
Effectively it's one government department going against another government department. If I do get any interviews, I shall have to be honest about my TFL job offer, as that is my dream. Over 14,000 applicants whittled down to 456 - we are the top 3%. And that's not to be 'sneezed at'.

You should be fine, I got an easy retail job to earn some money while waiting for TFL to get back to me and it did not affect my onboaring process whatsoever. In fact, they actually called me to select a training date while I was workin. I ran to the toilets immediately to answer their call. I don't think they care if I'm honest as they are aware there is a massive waiting period between recieiving an offer, and actually starting training/work. You're fine to get another job in the mean time.
Hello everybody, long time lurker of this thread and finally decided to register and say hello. I found this site back in August after applying for the latest CSA2 campaign and I was looking for help concerning the various assessments during the recruitment process.
I just wanted to thank everybody who has posted in this thread with tips, experiences and help - I managed to pass all the stages and got a conditional offer back at the start of September, had my medical and am just awaiting the training.
I'm guessing I'll be in the April batch which is an agonising wait but I cannot wait to start working for TFL - it's always been a dream of mine to work on the rail network as a kid but I never pursued it, I've gone from various job to job and always put it on the back burner but now as I have gotten older I've finally decided to go for it.
I've been stuck in my current job for 14 years and the day I can hand in my resignation will be one of the happiest days of my life - I've grown to hate the job and these are going to be the longest few months of my life. When I left my interview for the CSA vacancy and was told I had passed I was making my way home and I had never felt so happy, my dream had come true.
I can't wait to start and I am buzzing with excitement at the next chapter of my life, I don't really have any questions for the thread as everything has pretty much been covered by others but I just wanted to say thank you to everybody again. You have all helped me change my life.
I was wondering what sort of progression there is for a typical CSA1 night tube that has just started - I got my offer back in early September so I’m expecting to start later this year.
I understand there are CSMs but was wondering what another avenues outside of customer service a CSA1 could get into such as a train conductor or within engineering / dealing with the railway tracks?
As well as that I aim to do as much work as I can once I’ve got the contract, is there an option to take up overtime as a newly appointed night tube CSA1?

I wanted to ask say for example the last campaign I applied for it but got rejected as duplicate would I still be able to apply for the next campaign coming seeing as I didn’t go through the process last time
It will entirely depend on the wording of the job advert, and where the cut-off is chosen.
That said, given following instructions is an incredibly important part of the job, if I was personally in charge of recruitment at TfL I would definitely bar anyone who incorrectly applied for a campaign they weren't eligible for. The devil is always in the detail.

Not really. If you can't comprehend and follow instructions you'll very quickly become a cropper on the railway. Having people follow applications to the letter is as much a part of the sift as anything else.
As has been noted recently in this thread, there are huge volumes of applicants for these jobs, and it's not unreasonable to restrict how often people can therefore apply.

Thankfully, the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) takes it very seriously. Safety related incidents on and around the railway are rare, primarily because staff follow the rules, but the result of not following established rules and procedures can result in criminal conviction.

Last time when I spoke with them in December they told me potentially March. But looking at what people have said I’m not sure anymore, I think I’ll give them another call soon.

Was last told March / April time but now starting to doubt that. I’ve emailed recently asking, waiting for a reply but it seems as if someone is going to ring them which will likely be quicker!
I had called yesterday and there’s no more training dates till May and that’s for ppl who got the job in July, for anyone August/September I wouldn’t be surprised if we get our training dates funnily in August/September
From what I was told July is the majority of people that were offered the job so should hopefully be a lot of training dates for you guys in May!
I was an early July offer and medical done in September along with screening completed. Seeing as there are no training dates till May…Will I have to redo the medical test and screening?

you will have to do a drug and alcohol test again as well as your dbs check as they are both only valid for 6 months. your medical test results are valid for a year so i doubt you will have to do that again before you start.
Good luck to all future CSA2 candidates, it will be worth the wait. Make the most of your first 2 weeks of classroom training, trust me it will go very fast, and ask questions, pay attention and write notes. You will have a great time. Just curious, did you get allocated a big station to start in like Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Euston etc or is it a smaller station? I'm just curious as to where I'll be starting off, I'm guessing it will be a busy mainline station.
