Looks like ECB's 10101 is in use with Horsburgh now, looking very smart after repaint ;

Photo of 10101 on Flickr

Also - this has appeared on bus times. Wonder what it could be?

Bus 73 is also sitting outside in the yard at seafield for those quick enough! Looking smart!

Guessing it won't be long now until they turn up at Longstone. Hopefully someone will get a picture in the public domain so they can be discussed

Well to be honest, how long have we been waiting to find out..... We didn't wait this long to find out who shot Phil Mitchell in Eastenders, and like that we will have all forgotten about it within a month or so.

To be fair, if someone was to share a photo it wouldn't be the end of the world. But it would have to be someone who doesn't work for the company and it would have to be taken from "public" land.

After the whole situation with a certain individual back when the 7900H's were new i doubt anyone will share any photos until they enter service...

What whole situation with the 7900's? From the day thee first one was delivered to the day they entered service they were road tested, all over the city and beyond - and in full livery. They were very much not a secret, less so because the previous environmental officer was releasing official videos on the conpany social media even before the first one arrived.

Yes, someone posted photos of HY13BUS on delivery/trials before the official launch and quite a number of "Lothian enthusiasts" started harassing them about it. The photos are still online but many of the comments have been deleted now. Lothian had requested that enthusiasts don't post pictures of them online but this person wasn't from the area so didn't know.

IMO if the vehicles are in public view then it's fair game, it's not as if the regular punters are stalking bus enthusiast sites looking at photos of buses!

Exactly mate. Theres a load of them at Seafield works with a couple sitting outside that can be seen from the main road, which is public. So its fair game.

The company aren't on any kind of push to hide them. They just haven't been seen yet.

I think the issue there was that the "lothian enthusasts" had been requested not to share and as you say said person wasn't from the are so wasnt aware. Not a real issue. The "enthusiasts" just got upset cause they were asked not to share.

There was nothing stopping me taking a picture but I didn't think it was appropriate. Realistically there is very little left to know, so I'll leave the remaining surprises exactly that.

How is taking a photo from public land "not appropriate"? As for there being little left to know i'd disagree, there's far too much speculation going on regarding these vehicles with false rumours being spread everywhere daily, it doesn't exactly help that people are being so secret over them as if revealing any details presents a national security risk.

Okay, let's cool the beans here and not get too upset. No doubt all will be revealed in due course.

Perfectly calm here so answering - not to create / trigger an argument just to qualify what I meant. I was there for sub two minutes and didn't leave the car and I personally didn't think it was appropriate to do because:

A hastily taken, crappy angled, pixelated camera phone picture would only answer one question and generate 50 more that it couldn't answer.

Secondly I'm not sure if @Lothiangem22 is an employee and wouldn't want them to get into bother. No hobby or personal interest is worth someone's job.

Also it felt like cheating. I wouldn't have seen it had I not by chance have read the forum just before heading to Fort Kinnaird so wouldn't have gone out my way for a look.

Anyway I think the speculation is utterly harmless really, don't we all have more time to fill these days? I've been enjoying it personally, something to be a little excited about in the midst of an otherwise pretty depressing time!

To put you out your misery though I'll IM you as it's not a CIA secret as you correctly pointed out.

Aaagh! Someone put those of us who know what they are but can't talk about it out of our misery by coming out and saying it so we can

Articulated Leyland Lynx's.

Oh if only! What I'd give to drive a Lynx in service - I've driven two preserved ones and what machines they are. I've seen proposed drawings of an articulated and double deck Lynx but alas that's another topic.

I heard they were ADL Engined Volvo B8LA quad axles myself
