I meant the 62 plates.13 plates will be lucky to have their time at LCB add up to a quarter of their total mileage. They spent most of their time on the tame 276 and 280. Horsburgh have no reason to buy them

Agreed, but it's unfortunate, they are literally leaving customers behind.I can’t see any frequency updates happening for the foreseeable future, unfortunately, with the driver shortages showing no signs of improvement.
936 was recently with EastCoastbuses not Lothiancountry so possibly it’s being repainted so that it can stay.I was under the impression that 936 plus 928-935 were being replaced by 579-590.
Well, the most likely situation is that buses have been taken off due to the driver shortage. There may be a bus or two not tracking as intended sometimes but I don't believe that has been the case today. Is there something going on in Edinburgh today which is affecting the buses?
That's what I considered but I hadn't thought it was so bad as to leave routes with hour-long gaps in the service.Well, the most likely situation is that buses have been taken off due to the driver shortage.
It's certainly poor. The 276 & 280 in recent times both have had missing buses for hours, as high as 4. It's clear their withdrawal is of nessecity to keep LC in a stable position. A few months ago there was only 1 bus on the 25 for a while. That's what I considered but I hadn't thought it was so bad as to leave routes with hour-long gaps in the service.
There was a tenement fire in Great Junction Street in the early hours that shut the road, which has no doubt caused chaos all day. Also, a police incident near Cameron toll this morning. I'm guessing that may explain the 33 delays. There is another police incident just now in St Mary Street which would probably cause a knock on effect to the 35 in the High Street. Is there something going on in Edinburgh today which is affecting the buses? I'm looking at the live times in the Old Town; for the 35 heading towards Ocean there's a gap of 51 minutes between buses (bus 564, currently at Easter Road, then nothing until bus 497, currently at Sighthill)? And the 33 towards Millerhill, there's a gap of 61 minutes between buses (bus 1153 currently at East Preston Street, then nothing until bus 1148 which is currently at Longstone but still heading towards Wester Hailes)?
It’s the same with a Lothian route; they are all the same livery but lots of different routes. You’ll get used to it eventually. Now that there are a few more of them on the road I have to say that I do not like the fact that Lothian Country buses are now the same livery as East Coast. If you can't see the number or destination blinds then it's easy to get confused thinking you are looking at an EC bus when it turns out to be an LC one. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but for now I find it a minor annoyance.
Funny you should say that - with me it's even worse as they look so similar to Lothian City buses. Now that there are a few more of them on the road I have to say that I do not like the fact that Lothian Country buses are now the same livery as East Coast. No. The new green is darker. Is the shade of green now used for the new livery (matching the East Coast Buses) just the same as the previous green on Lothian Country?
Thanks. As I say, there are bigger things to worry about these days but I wonder why they chose that darker shade. I doubt I'm the only person who now can't easily tell the difference between City, Country and East Coast. I'm usually OK with distinguishing green buses from red ones but these seem very similar to me.No. The new green is darker.
With nothing published by Lothian themselves, I do think this is just an error in the online timetabling at this point.Changes to X services and frequency changes still happening on Monday 20th November? Can only see 31 / X31 info on their website.
1045 is now heading away too. 577 may have returned earlier but it's unknown if it certainly did1049 going away for repaint today, she is currently at Newcraighall Junction.
It’s actually now at Bustec in Bellshill I reckon. I’ve no idea if they do repaints but Ferrymill is already flooded with Lothian vehicles. It’s around 12 at the minute.Currently around Coatbridge as seen below;

It’s set up for the two companies to merge eventually I think. They must be wanting the repaints finished quickly so that they can no longer be associated with green and cream.
Once the whole of the Lothiancountry and the EastCoastbuses fleet are done there isn’t much left in the old livery at Lothian either. I guess they will just repaint ones that are needing freshened up and remove the gold sticker on the body which they no longer do anymore.
I think that it would make sense to merge them both and keep the Lothiancountry name it sounds better (in my opinion). It’s set up for the two companies to merge eventually I think.
There are now no Lothian swoops liveried vehicles left in service at the minute. 926-927 are VOR at Marine, and possibly withdrawn too. 562 was the last and it’s now wearing the Poppy wrap.
VOR - Vehicle off Road
Published now: https://www.lothianbuses.com/news/2022/11/leith-walk-diversions/With nothing published by Lothian themselves, I do think this is just an error in the online timetabling at this point.
From Sunday 20 November, there will be minor timetable changes and temporary route diversions on some services due to ongoing Trams to Newhaven works in the Picardy Place/Leith Walk area.
Further changes will take place when Leith Walk fully reopens in December.
Services 1, 4 and 5 have returned to serving Leith Street and London Road in both directions.
In the meantime, the following diversions will be in effect:
Timetable information is available below.
- Services 7, 14, 16, N14, N16 and N22 will be subject to minor timetable changes to improve reliability.
- Services 10 and 11 will continue to divert southbound, serving Leith Street. This is due to the City Centre West to East Link (CCWEL) active travel scheme works, and is expected to continue until spring of 2023.
- Service 19 will return to Leith Street/London Road from Sunday 20 November.
- Services 25 and 49 will operate via Leith Street/Easter Road (northbound) and Leith Walk/Leith Street (southbound) until further notice.
This confirms that indeed it looks like the X33, X37, X44 & peak 12, 44 journeys are indeed still operating despite the timetables on bustimes and traveline saying otherwise. This article only states information regarding Leith walk diversions and timetabling. The timetabling being changed now looks like preparation for reopening in December.
It looks similar to what it already is just now although, the the fact that the bus stops have been shown on the left hand side going down as closed that means it is just like a normal diversion and the routes will resume soon.
There isn't anything left in the older livery, other than 562 and 565 which are wrapped. They must be wanting the repaints finished quickly so that they can no longer be associated with green and cream.

926/7 are not confirmed to be withdrawn, they may be in storage still.there isnt anything left in the older livery other than 562 and 565 which are wrapped
They’re not being used though and lets face it, probably aren’t going to be again926/7 are not confirmed to be withdrawn, they may be in storage still.
