Filmed at Nuneaton on it Tuesday hopefully, like others said not full boards say only charter train and didn't hear announcements. The LNWR before was busy emptied platform.

One of the southbound services just went through Milton Keynes and was advertised as a Charter Train on the CIS but the announcement said an "Avanti West Coast Additional Train service to London Euston".

It seemed quite heavily loaded as well which is a good sign with A4 cards in the window stating "Avanti West Coast Extra Capacity Train" (or words to that effect).

I'm going to Hemel so couldn't have got on it. Boo.

They certainly aren't perfect - the doors on the Mk3s can prove to be too narrow for some larger chairs - but they certainly do have an accessible toilet and wheelchair spaces.
And the very steep ramps, special ramps for the narrow doors, etc. But I think accessible enough that I can use it, which is good.
Is this the same set as was (is?) used for the Friday Charters? I had very much wanted to travel on them but hadn't, because the InterCity website says:
Are the carriages suitable for wheelchairs?
Unfortunately, our heritage carriages don’t allow for wheelchair boarding.

I'd be surprised if the stations have the ramps still available for the Mk3s as they are different to the 390 and 221 ramps.

Not sure if LSL carry ramps on board.

Also the comment from Avanti that there are three wheelchair spaces in the coach with the disabled loo seems a bit suspect, as when the Mk3s were in use with GA, I'm not sure if they did have three spaces available.

From what I understand, they certainly used to under GA, and I wouldn't think LSL would purposefully remove them, so hopefully!

According to the GA DPPP there were three wheelchair spaces in the accessible carriage, so I suspect this is correct. I agree it is unusual to have three wheelchair spaces in one carriage, though.

The 12.40 Pendolino to Manchester is showing as cancelled so presumably the 12.33 today will be much busier.

I grabbed an itinerary on the LNER app on the 09:10 out of Manchester tomorrow, but the service is no longer in the system. Am I right in assuming it's been cancelled?

It looks like it's been retimed to 07:00, which I have no chance of making...

There was a wheelchair being offloaded at MK as I boarded earlier. Ramp was carried onboard and both passenger and staff seemed happy.

Great news, thank you.
One wonders whether I could have been traveling on the Friday Charters. The LSL website and accessible travel plan both say that there is no wheelchair access to any of their trains.

I haven't checked, but does the Intercity website have anything?

AFAIK the ex-GA stock is the only stock they have that does indeed have an MIP area (and I believe an MIP toilet).

It says there's no wheelchair access to their train. I'm wondering if this is incorrect!

Ta, yes that's my understanding too.
Some ex-LNER Mark 3 1st Class carriages had an apology for a wheelchair space, which one couldn't actually get into as the corridor was too narrow; and no accessible loo.
And XC HSTs have proper wheelchair accessible facilities in 1st Class.
But I'm not aware of any others, particularly in heritage mainline use.

I think Avanti are taking the pish for claiming they are running "extra" trains for the Queens funeral when a lot of their Manchester to London trains have been cut. They are not extra trains just trains that SHOULD be running and its an even bigger p-take when pendolinos are being replaced with slower loco hauled carriages.

The only outcome of fighting this is withdrawal. This would be worse for ambulant disabled, e.g. the many elderly people coming to pay respects. Thus, to me this is not one to fight.
I have not read the details but that is exactly what some disability rights campaigners want to achieve.

I'm at Piccadilly now and 1621 shows as a charter. edit: this was corrected just after I posted!

Edit: Stockport boards just said "Charter train" and the train is now very busy; there was a big surge just after the 1612 departed. I wonder if it was really full and an announcement was made...

Can anyone confirm if there is a northbound service tomorrow evening please?

Sorry to ask for clarification but I have read through the thread and am still a bit confused at what is running now. I am in London so suppose I am lucky in that I can get whatever train is still running and then try pick one up heading back again. Do we have a definitive list of what is running tonight and for the next few days? Apologies if I have missed it! Thanks.

Filter by operators 'LS' and 'WR' on RealTimeTrains and you will see all the services. Every 1Zxx train will be an Avanti relief service - except for the "Friday charters" (1Z40/41), which are cancelled as the set is being used for the additional Avanti services instead.

Are the WCRC services being well used because they seem to be taking a lot longer than the normal services, like if you're taking the 1936 from London to Preston, you can wait for the 2030 and arrive into Preston at 2303 or take the 2110 and still arrive earlier at 2355

WCRC services not on RTT. Anyone got the calling pattern for the 0815 service from Lancaster?
