1 Manchester - Llandudno and 1 Shrewsbury - Holyhead per hour makes 2 trains per hour??
The problem is that it's irregular, with gaps of up to 50 minutes even during the daytime.
Trains leave Llandudno Junction for Chester at:
0437, 0515, 0549, 0604, 0616, 0633, 0652, 0723, 0733, 0753, 0834, 0852, 0920, 0938, 0952, 1029, 1052, 1127, 1152, 1246, 1253, 1318, 1333, 1358, 1432, 1451, 1526, 1533, 1552, 1626, 1640, 1652, 1723, 1752, 1833, 1839, 1852, 1930, 1950, 2036, 2052, 2126, 2158.
Most hours there is a train at
about xx52 to Manchester, although it isn't completely clockface.
But then you've got trains to Birmingham, Caerdydd, London and Shrewsbury, which are inconsistent.
If there was a genuine half-hourly service between LLJ and Chester, alternating between an hourly Llandudno to Manchester, and an hourly Caergybi to Shrewsbury then Birmingham or Caerdydd, with the occasional AWC train slotted in where it will fit, then that would be an improvement.
