There a small article in the current issue of Bus & Coach Buyer about this. Its only a trial livery and passengers traveling on the bus are being asked for their views on the livery/colour. The bus has also received tinted windows.

It appears that NatEx can't get out the habit of fiddling with the liveries every few years. Towards the end of the TWM brand, there were several different versions in existence. Constant changes serve only to create a disjointed brand image.

This new version is slightly better than the current NatEx West Midlands livery, but not by much.

At one point a huge load of Wolverhampton's buses were plain white. I remember very loose rumours NXWM was going to First, the buses being repainted for easy change of livery, and that it fell through. Never been with "people who know" to test those rumours though. (It was a huge bunch of Optare Spectras and Solos).

My mom (shush ) says this is probably some sort of Olympic propaganda, getting Birmingham to look like London.

A bit peeved to be honest, my favourite WM bus company already runs in red:

No confusing the two of course, for now, but eventually both do run Optare Solos and Excels. (Although that implies NX:WM will ever have a universal livery displayed).
