May timetable change time

I am prepared that there is no chance of any S7 stock on the Circle Line before May. However, I shall be in London on Easter Monday and hope to ride an S7 on the H&C Line. I realise this might be a bit ambitious though!

With any luck, I could change at Whitechapel from an H&C S7 to an LO train to Clapham Junction.

I'm unsure how they can justify such a large service suspension to test one train!
We've already had 1day suspensions for similar testing on the Wimbledon branch.
There is another 1day closure for S7 testing South Kensington-Tower Hill on Easter Monday 1 April.

So if signalling kit all goes pop with the new train and a shed tonne of wrong side failures come in, we don't have any passengers being killed when trains find eachother on the same track?

Does the S7 stock seem to pulll away quicker than the S8's?
Unless they are not restricted as the C and D stock are pretty quick compared to the A stock off the mark.

There would be no wrong side failures caused by the train. Especially as they do not operate within a defined possesion.

The acceleration/braking of the S7 is capped to match the C/D stock

As all the cars are motored, unless there's a supply problem meaning reduced total power available the S8 and S7 should surely have near identical potential performance, at least close enough that you should not be able to notice a difference.

The S7 does have a very very slighly worse power to weight ratio, as the M2 car is lighter than the DM or MS cars...

And how do you know it won't make any signalling kit, or power kit for that point go pop...?

There was an s stock train passing very slowly through Hammersmith when exited from a Piccadilly Line train there on Saturday evening.
It was being watched closely presumably for platform clearances?

Interesting to note that money is actually being spent of Rayners Lane signalbox, (the first pegged for closure), by upgrading from route-switches to push button operation within the next few months.

The buttons not working is costing more in Lost Customer Hours than the cost of putting new buttons in!

Is the S7 Stock still only working train number 700 or is there more in service now. I am only asking as I saw an S7 heading for Hammersmith from Paddington at about 18:30 with train number 261.

Recent regular workings have been T245, T261, T700 and new T703 introduced M-F off-peak from 21 January.
Some days none run, other days all have been seen!

Any idea when the last C Stock will run on the Hammersmith & City as well on the Circle?

Equally any idea when the same applies for the D stock on the District?

Finally any idea when S7 stock will be used on Circle/District services even for limited services?

Thanks, I can't wait to use S7 stock on the Circle rather then C Stock which is rather tired :/

Indeed it's a lovely site when you see the C stock sat in the death siding waiting to be scrapped <D
They've served LU well but is their time to go
